Even when I do a pitch out, it seems that a fast runner with a modest lead on first steals second 100% of the time. What am I doing wrong?

Catcher with a better arm and pop time.
Hold them on if they are getting leads.
    Pitch out.
Slide step if you think they’re going but can’t afford a pitch out.

It’s really tough to throw out runners this year. Even doing all these things my success rate is maybe 10%

You can’t. You are not doing anything wrong.
Don’t listen to anyone saying otherwise.

Better off just letting them steal than mess up your focus on the batter.

The best players in the world do not even pay attention to stealing - you cannot stop it.

Maybe pitch out once - after that, you're giving up valuable strikes. Even if you pitch out, they may still beat throw if their jump is good. Even if you pitch out and their jump isnt good, they may be able to retreat to first in time no matter what you do.

Stealing is so broken...crazy it hasn't been patched.

    Agree with this 1,000 percent.

Idk I have good success with runners. You just gotta know who you are playing with. Is it first pitch and go? Are they trying to bait you into pitching out? Not saying I throw out more then 50% of runners, but a decent bit with some good guesswork.
