There really is no reason to have more than 20 of one card without being semi selfish but to each their own. They could just release more roster updates
It was for investment purposes. I'm surprised that you didn't know this. We did this to try to make stubs when a card goes Diamond.
This used to be a big deal until we got limited to only 20 of a card. -
@TheGoaler_PSN I mean there is no reason to be investing over 20 cards on one player. I get why people do it. But people like to view it as why the game isn’t fun anymore. Point of the game is to play not having to spend hours flipping and investing all day. It’s just another thing SDS isn’t allowed to get right.

People used to invest way more than 20, lol.
I don't flip much, but i do to help complete collections. If not, I'd have to buy stubs, which i won't. -
@TheGoaler_PSN I get it but holding a 100 plus duplicated of one player is just mind blowing. You can still make stubs on the 20 card limit. But guys were clearing a million stubs every roster update without it which is just crazy.

Here is a bit of an issue with everyone buying hundreds of a player assuming he goes up.
All of a sudden the supply of the 82 overall player poised to be upgraded to diamond drops. There are probably 10s of thousands of copies being hoarded by players (it only takes 100 gamers buying 100 copies)
The card gets updated, everybody quick sells their dupes for a profit removing a ridiculous amount of copies from the market completely.
So not only is the card rarer because it is now a diamond but it is also rarer because 10s of thousands of copies were simultaneously removed from the market when they were quick sold.
