Lack of offline content forcing a change

The only things I have left are the latest Conquest map and grinding for #1 Team packs so I think I’m going to have to finally make the leap to online play. I’m most interested in the events especially since you can earn cards which I would otherwise have to buy. I see a lot of mixed reviews but how bad can it be? It’s a video game and not the gladiators being fed to the lions. It isn’t, right?
I can hold my own on All-Star difficulty so even if I get an a$$-whooping, so what? I still have to pay the mortgage. My question is - what exactly is an event like? I see the rules but can you use your own settings? Inquiring minds want to know. Thanks -
I like playing the events, because for me, and I am not a great online player, I strike out a ton, and it feels good to get into one for a 450 foot bomb and to pitch well and get a win.
My dog doesn't like it though because I am always yelling at myself.

Yes you can use your settings. Make your setting before you enter Diamond Dynasty and that will be the settings you always start with. You can change your settings during the games and will go back to the original setting the next time automatically. Playing online head to head is a lot harder, so be ready for that. Events have different tasks you need to full fill to get to the next level. Sometimes they want you to use certain players or positions to get that level done. Good luck

@PapaRick68_XBL they aren’t terrible really. Go into them with little expectations, if you win you win and if you lose you lose. Just try to find some enjoyment in claiming the rewards. Every now and then some punk may message you and talk trash, but it’s rare and you can always turn incoming messages off on your console. I have played this event more than previous events for some reason despite getting rocked by guys with 1000 ranked and flawless BR badges. But I promise you the greatest feeling is when you get a steamer that is live and you watch the stream while you whoop them. Makes it soo much sweeter

I mean they just release new content. People just play too much for it to actual last. People shorten the mini seasons from 28 to 7 to get faster rewards
-
@Apolloz_99_MLBTS Playing too much should never be a problem that the player should have to worry about IMO.

-
@PapaRick68_XBL it is if you want to the game to cater to more than you. It’s interesting that some people got a three musketeers ideology in one for all and all for one. And some people just want the game to cater to them. It’s impossible to please this fanbase. Also if you play too much then either play with what you got or play something else. Problem is this game rewards people who get to the bosses first and whoever finishes the programs first.
-
@Apolloz_99_MLBTS Thanks for your opinion. I was asking about what online play was like but thank you.

-
@PapaRick68_XBL play the events only. You most likely won’t like ranked but you will still advance on the multiplayer program as well.
-
@Apolloz_99_MLBTS Thank you. I really want to try. I feel like I’m missing an important part of the game and I do understand your point and I guess I need to accept that playing online factors into the overall content.

Sometimes, people go through the content too quickly.
I strongly suggest, that if you like a second sport, if baseball is your favorite, try the game for that sport.
Madden isn't what it used to be, but it can satisfy your football fix.
2K basketball still has modes you can play that won't force you to pay real money.
I like Soccer, but have no desire to play it, mainly because of lack of scoring.
NHL is my main game, where you can create yourself and play online team play as yourself. I fell in love with HUT. '27 is almost here, I pre-ordered, and I'm still playing '26. Maybe because, you know, it's 2026?, lol.
Don't be locked onto this game, unless you don't care for other sports. In those, you can play offline in the easiest settings that fit you.
Branch out, and see if another game 'grabs' you.
I'm still floored by the fact that one of my PSN friends used to only play NHL.
Well, every time i check what friends are playing, he's on The Show!!
He's a S.J. Sharks fan, and since a Shark is on the cover of '27, he may get it, lol.
I don't remember if I even seen he was playing '26, even once!
I think baseball 'grabbed' him, the way another sports game may grab you. -
@TheGoaler_PSN I used to be completely addicted to Tiger Woods Golf back in the day. Ha ha. Thanks. I think I need to try online. I understand about the limitations of new content but this week was not a shining moment. Maybe I HAVE been playing a little too much lately.
