Tell us one weird thing about your gameplay settings

Thanks for all the replies, lads.
Genuinely fascinating to see how different we all play.Comms muted aside, my settings are pretty standard, largely because I was new to the game last year so just went with standard settings and they kinda stuck.

Do you use the metered throws from fielding then because I'll be honest I never got that timing down so I still just use the buttons lol

I use just diamonds to hit. My ADD can’t handle the outside ring
-
Probably not weird but Under Display >Pitch History > I use custom. It’s set up for when I hit the Right Trigger during an at bat it shows me the last 25 pitches, there location and pitch category.
-
@Raiding__Fridges_PSN I’ve never heard of this but it would be rly helpful for identifying sequences.
-
I turn my pci off visually and just put it were pitch is. It keeps me from being distracted with stuff on the screen and I swear I’ve become a better hitter because of it!!
-
@Nickc22_MLBTS I’ve heard of this strategy before I’ve never tried tho.
-
Analog pitching with all sounds muted. Only time I have turned my monitor speakers on was for the negro leagues storylines. Which I must say, Bob Kendrick is terrific.
-
I put two thin strips of Post It notes on my monitor where the outside of the strike zone is...
-
@MarioMendoza935_XBL yo that’s awesome, I did this at the start of year too, but made a plus sign over the pitcher to help me learn release points on pitch types faster.
-
I use zone hitting but turn my pci off. I can’t hit unless my strike zone is clean, my own pci distracts me.
-
I use directional hitting most of the time.
I thought I was the only one that uses directional.
Do you move the joystick at the same time as you're pressing hit or try to time it out? I'm same time but I have a DaulSense Edge, use R2 to swing and have the delay set to 35. How I ever hit a fastball is surprising. -
I hit on fisheye. I am sure most people use strike zone. I just think it looks better on fisheye
-
Yea I would get hung up on high and inside pitches and no matter what color or how light I turn the pci color down it always sort of hindered my view. Ever since this change I focus less on pci placement and I’m able to track pitches way better. I also have gone to reading leg kicks so that helps as well but turning off the pci just works so well for me!!
-
I almost always have music on while playing.
I even sleep with it on, which makes dreams interesting! -
I use Diamonds and turn the inner pci off. I Keep the outer pci on. Start pci low and inside towards the bottom of the zone that way it doesnt distract me and I can see the entire strike zone. If you start the pci high you will hinder your view.
Sometimes I turn off the diamonds and just use the outer pci with absolutely nothing in the middle. This works better for people who like to pitch you high. If someone is pitching me high ill turn off the diamonds and start the pci higher.

I have never used the throw meter for fielding(playing since 2014)

I use whatever they call the show 15 view, strike zone is too zoomed in for me.

@kenken71412_mlbts @drbear100_psn
I use directional as well. When the pitcher goes into his windup, I move my left stick (Xbox) either to the left ( for righties) or to the right (for lefties).
This helps me get around on inside pitches. Sometimes I’ll push the left stick straight up for loft on the swing (to get fly balls). I press ‘A’ for regular swing exclusively.

How I ever hit a fastball is surprising.I wait until the pitcher brings his leg up and then apply the influence, it also helps with timing up pitches too. I find if you start to early with the influence the cpu throws the opposite direction you are trying to influence and you wil inevitably roll over on the pitch or hit a lazy fly ball to someone. I also influence pull hitting with power hitters in hitters counts and use no influence all other times, it keeps me from rolling over on pitches. Balance hitters I use no influence unless there are multiple runners in scoring position or pitcher's confidence is low then I will influence pull or up influence. Contact hitters down influence or in and down influence. Only time I push influence is when it's a pitchers count or if it's Juan Soto for some reason he mashes everything using up and away influence.
