It's clear that SDS doesn't want you to swing at the first pitch during Showdown. There used to be a hidden penalty for swinging first pitch. They wouldn't admit it, but it was obvious and it's still around. SDS wants to dictate how you play this game on your own time.

If you take 2 strikes on every batter you will beat this easily. They'll literally give you hits on the worst PCI placement ever. But if you swing first pitch and perfect/perfect it's right at someone.

Can't wrap my head around why the developers would make their game modes play so differently. It's mind boggling the inconsistency of the game play

Showdown feels very different to me ... I finally got around to trying the Max Scherzer one yesterday and I saw I needed 6 runs or something and had 30 outs ... I can do this ... nope .. I think I had 3 hits.

So may squared up balls just at the outfielders.

I can't really criticize showdown now that we can fail before the final round but still get to attempt the final boss. There has always been that one mission where there's zero exit velocity no matter how many exit velocity perks you got.

@rushmore_NSW For some reason they think if they program this game to to make you mad that you'll still play that game mode. There's a reason I only played online the past 10 years, but they've even screwed that up. Last I played you got rewards for RS, BR and Events. Now it seems they are all lumped into one. They're begging you to play BR now with the measly missions for 10 hits and 5 wins. 30 day online program when most people are already done with it. It's cray cray. I want to go back to when the focus was actually playing the game. I shouldn't have to do Showdown to complete a program. It goes back to SDS trying to dictate how you play the game. Every card should be able to be unlocked whether you play online or offline. There's a reason people quit playing this game and SDS has yet to understand that

every mode plays completely different than others.. even inside modes (ex: conquest steal fans is different than stronghold takeover)

@xRatedGProdigyx_PSN I hear ya, but my issue is with how they penalize your good input because you didn't see the amount of pitches they think you should see. How many moments have you finished on the worst possible contact ever, but your good contact is being caught at the wall or being snagged by a corner infielder or outfielder.

@davisonkj17_PSN Regular online rated plays better than DD online RS. Never understood it. I understand they goose the sliders, but don't know why.
