Closing pitching is not worth playing

I can’t understand or figure out why when I’m put into a tie game I’m yanked after only 2.1 innings only for the next pitcher to blow it. I’m maxed out 99 overall and I have the manager hook turned all the way down. This has happened multiple times and I’m sick of these outcomes

The problem with being a closer is (just like real life) you will get put into games (no matter what the score) if you haven't pitched in a few days.
And the 'why did I get pulled out when ...' question is one as old as pitching.

Multi inning relievers are rare because managers would prefer to have multi day pitchers, multi inning pitchers are mostly starters.
