Big Collections Worth It?
-
With the viability of players like Chone Figgins and Nasim Nunez this year do you all think it is even worth it to invest time and stubs into the big collections? Defense is really important and there are other options such as Lance Berkman to take the place of Victor Martinez. Only so much room for guys that can not play defense in the lineup.
I am sure a super Randy Johnson or something might be the next collection reward, but for now it does not even seem to be remotely worth it.
I am close to being able to unlock Victor and Miguel, but haven’t locked the cards into the collections. Wondering what some others thoughts are before I make a decision to complete the collections or sell off.

Vmart for me is 14-29 with 4 doubles 7 homers 8 runs 11 RBI all in the gauntlet mini season. I don't think he has hit it in play at under 95 ev yet.
So yeah, it might be worth it. -
I am almost to Vmart, for me it's all about "it's there so I want it done", that being said I haven't heard anyone say a bad thing about Vmart yet.

He's a little slow, although that didn't seem to effect him much on those doubles

@PAinPA_PSN I just know he won't be my catcher, he will be DH, need that pop time from Pudge.

I have him at first but when I eventually put pujols back in hell be the dh for me too.

I don’t think investing and flipping to be worth it at all for anything. I just play the game and collect as many cards as possible. I always end up with every card at the end anyways. So many cards are released every week or two that it doesn’t really matter if I have this card or another card. I think people get wrapped up too much on what card a certain steamer says is the best. Also people just get way too obsessed on the overall when a 95 might overall be better at the plate for you.

I’m the same way. I don’t spend money, grind offline besides the new weekly stuff and don’t invest/flip. I just play online and use the stubs I get.
That is why I don’t want to mess this up and lock all these stubs away. Probably smarter for me to just stay liquid and try out new cards. I have been locking the programs such as Summer…so I do have that to consider.

I have Mauer at catcher and he's not going anywhere anytime soon.

Earlier in the year, for sure. Where the power creep is now, debatable.
-
VMart is consistently hailed as the best hitter in the game by knowledgeable players (and some say one of the best swings of all time).
To me, Figgins is a bench player - pinch run, play defense at multiple positions - but hes not a dangerous bat. Same for Nunez. Its a shame that contact guys aren't more valuable in this game - I'd love to use Tony Gwynn types more, but they dont give you much reason to.
-
@rubicante23_PSN idk I use figgins in cf on my god squad. He’s rly rly good. Contact guys seem more useful then years past.
-
but I benched Ted Williams
We're no longer friends....

I still have 2 92's that slap.
Ken Singleton and Cityscapes Ian Happ. I can't take them out! They are switch hitters, and their swings are just too good to replace them with Red Diamonds atm. I haven't even given the 95 Cabrera 1 AB yet! -

@rubicante23_PSN Have been stunned at a few HRs I have hit w Nunez
There is sneaky power coding baked into him.
I have him at leadoff. -
@TheGoaler_PSN The Singleton rakes on upper difficulty levels and gets me balls in the gap vs very good opponents.
I have contact mod on him.
