I’ve liked baseball and played this video game series for most of my life, but I have been extremely frustrated with this year’s game and probably more frustrated than I have been with any game in the series since the 2019 game.

I don’t want to restate a bunch of stuff I’ve already mentioned on here before, but this is one discussion I’ve had. I wanted to post the link because I want it to be known that I have read about some possible solutions. I did set my TV to low latency mode but don’t play on a monitor.

It’s also insanely frustrating how well the CPU locates his pitches and how unpredictable he is. It happens but does seem fairly uncommon to get a good pitch to hit. Hitting is merely part of my frustration though.

The game seems borderline unplayable at times when playing on legend. Pitching is easier than hitting, but it’s insanely frustrating at times too.

I played on legend in TS 24. I changed to that in the last month of the regular season and ended up winning a World Series title. Didn’t play a ton on legend, but I do feel that I played fairly well on it. I’m considering moving down to hall of fame again for hitting and/or pitching.

    Has anyone else experienced this?

Never play anything lower than All-Star and practice a level or two higher than where you want to be in the batting cages. Legend is a [censored] but GOAT is unrealistic and Hall of Fame tends to be a sweet spot in TS26. Legend can be conquered. Have faith and get to work.

I dunno.. I find legend far easier this year than in previous years.. I’m not sure what it is.. maybe I’m just getting better.. maybe they nerfed it a bit with GOAT.. but I averaged just over 3 rpg last year in my franchise..I’m over 5 this year (much smaller sample size as I’m only about 45 games in)

I’ve always felt pitching was a bit too easy on legend. For me it’s typically the one big inning in a game that will cause me to the lose. If I can avoid that, I like my chances. I don’t typically have games where I give up a big number spread out across all 9 innings

I'm 70 years old and have been playing on legend for the last couple of years. I play with the Giants in concert with the season. At this point I have 57 wins and up in the division by 6 games. I lead the league in hitting at .281. I'm top 5 in the league in multiple offensive categories. I do agree that the CPU is giving you very few good pitches to hit. It has required great patience on my part and a degree of frustration. When you're as old as I am you have hit pitches in the fat part of the plate. I have a list of hitting tips that you might be interested in.

    Here's my approach:

Hitting- zone Difficulty- legend Camera angle- strike zone 2 PCI - diamonds with outer circle that fades out pre pitch Controller- Dual Sense with paddles (I know it's expensive) Control freaks/ purple precision rings Gaming monitor (I need every advantage I can get)

MECHANIC PCI pre pitch- Rt handed-middle in Lt handed- high and in- I'm constantly adjusting this as I get a feel for the pitcher.

Watch the ball out of the pitchers hand. Pick the pitcher up as early as possible. Don't stare the ball down. You'll be late. Discern the trajectory of the ball and react accordingly as you read the speed and break of the pitch.

With less than 2 strikes only swing at pitches that take a fat part of the plate. Lay off pitchers strikes!

With 2 strikes you must protect the whole plate . Let the pitch get slightly deeper with an opposite field approach- a foul ball is a win

Keep your hand and fingers relaxed until you "pull the trigger" otherwise you'll never adjust to an off speed pitch. That said, always think fast ball first.

Timing is more important than PCI placement. I keep my left thumb on the bottom rim of the control freak. I'm constantly reminding myself to allow the ball get into the green timing window. I visualize that window as the ball approaches the plate. This has cut my strike outs significantly.

VERY IMPORTANT! Keep your stick movement short and quick. Gross movements in an attempt to chase pitches is counter productive. The stick does not have to travel far to cover the zone.

I seldom intentionally take a pitch. I'm just so selective the pitchers pitch count is run up naturally. It's important to understand that the pitcher becomes easier to hit when he runs out of energy or his confidence deteriorates.

Use at least 5 opposite handed hitters in your line up and don't be afraid to pinch hit after the 6th inning to achieve this matchup.

Know there are times when the pitcher is going to dominate you. No sweat! Say a cuss word and move on.

This game penalizes a lack of patience. You can't be swing happy. Get a good pitch to hit. I always check my hitting analysis after the game and it constantly shows the bulk of my hits are somewhere around the middle of the plate(middle, middle high or middle low). I struggle to hit balls on the edges of the plate. I'm mostly a mistake hitter. I seldom have more than 10-12 chased pitches and I'm in the top 1/3 in base on balls.

Trust me, I'm not a great hitter by any means, but over the years (back to 2014) I have studied hitting tips on YouTube as well as the internet. That, coupled with some conclusions I've drawn on my own, have made me able to hit legend difficulty at 70 years old.
