Can you pull captains and still get the boost?

Running Rockies theme team and am hoping I can pull Larry Walker. Anyone know how that is working this year?

You have to start the hitting captain to get the boost ofc - once you do you get it for the whole game, but if you try to pull the guy too soon the game won’t let you

After 2 innings in three inning games and after 6 innings in 9 inning games. It will give you a warning if you try to pull them too soon.
