    Here's an idea for a mode that will never happen...

    You have to throw what your catcher calls on the pitchcom. No other pitch is available. You can shake him off twice per inning. If you miss location that your catcher wants, ball floats over the middle...or gets by your catcher...one of the two. Difficulty changes based on your rank - best players on legend difficulty.

    I call this "get rid of the pitching meta" mode.

    Kind of a neat idea that you could force on yourself against the CPU in franchise games Or miniseasons to stop striking them out every at bat.

    Wouldn’t work online. Even if you pitched what the catcher called it’d go somewhere else.

    They need to fix pitching before we have them start coding catchers

    @ApolloZ_99_MLBTS

    A too-high percentage chance that no matter how perfect you place/pitch a pitch - it just goes wherever it wants

    Pinpoint pitchers can tell you much more. Me I pitch classic so not a real complaint of mine but good players could elaborate

    I accept at “classic” pitching that it’s all RNG and for the most part pretty accurate but man you can put a pitch low outside in the dirt and sometimes it’ll come high inside to the batter

    Now imagine a pinpoint pitcher and that happens on perfect release, etc

    @JenkinMeyer_PSN there are some REALLY good pinpoint pitchers though (not me admittedly) - some rng happens, but those players can clip the corner over and over.

    Thats part of what I'd like about this mode - its so tiring facing sinker and backdoor slider and cutter and rinse-repeat. Not a very realistic depiction of how most pitchers pitch in real life- just a realistic depiction of The Show meta!

    I actually used to do that when I played as a pitcher on road to the show, and it did make things feel a little more realistic. It was also nice being able to tell myself it was the catcher's fault and not mine whenever I gave up a homerun lol

    Yep, agreed. But it’s people like me who keep swinging at their [censored] ad nauseam that helps create the meta.

    Probably my fault haha

    @JenkinMeyer_PSN dude I feel this. If I could lay off sliders and wait on changeups Id be decent at this game. Alas...
