"Pitch Like Human" setting

Over the years they have definitely adjusted the CPU to be somewhat more like humans. Or at least throwing more deceptive or harder to time locations.
In particular the CPU throws tons of circle changes just below the zone (yet almost never actually in the zone low) and will throw circle/sinkers on the black/just outside the black away. You definitely cant just go up there and hack like you used to be able to.
And there are times where they throw a bunch over the plate but its also very common to go an entire 3 inning game without a single pitch touching the middle. Cutters and splitters are the biggest culprits of wandering over the plate, as well as curves.
They really need to make the CPU not as braindead hitting.

@Teak2112_MLBTS yeah, I just hate this division in all sports games where....
Offline modes = "easy mode for geezers" or "mindless grinding mode"
Online modes = "hard mode for serious players"
Why cant offline be legit challenging in the same way as online...and why cant online be good for the opposite play?
Im in the vast minority - most young broheims want nothing to do with offline. They wanna hop in their online lobbies all day err'day with their twitchster buds. But online blows, man.

My issue is that people that prefer higher difficulties tend to gatekeep or get entitled about deserving better rewards. "I did something harder so I deserve more than you." If you enjoy pushing yourself, that should be your reward (I feel harder should be faster but not necessarily better for getting rewards personally). SDS has done this right at times with optional extreme moments. PxP scaling is also well done this year.
Personally, I get my difficulty fixes elsewhere. The Show is my laid back, chill game. But even I wish the CPU could recognize that every at bat starts with a fastball up and in and start teeing off.

@rubicante23_PSN idk about u but that Degrom showdown is terrible I can’t even do it and sure I’m rusty haven’t played a lot lately far from the best of my abilities but that card is dotting me the f*** up with low and away sliders.
-
@Onix_Savage22_PSN lol, Im 4-3. You're a significantly better player than me - I know from your other posts - so you maybe just got an unlucky streak.
-
@rubicante23_PSN I also am barely playing now that I have a job. I play maybe 2-3 days a week. As before it was everyday and I don’t miss it at all ngl. Sounds like game has only gotten worse since I’ve started work.

@Onix_Savage22_PSN it made me feel a little better that even Gomes struggled with it a bit on his stream. But, its great for stubs if you wanna grind hard (I dont, but just sayin)
-
@BLAISEBLAISE_PSN I agree with this!! Back in the day if you played on rookie or veteran, cpu would just groove fastballs. You could run up the score and get your grind over asap. For those of you that cry and say “what’s wrong with it being a challenge?”…..I say this, that’s what playing on HOF or legend is for. When I’m grinding for stats, I don’t want a challenge. I wanna get it over.

I'm like 0-5 and it's funny because normally I destroy Degrom but man this version dots everything, barely walks you and I can't sit back because I see his fastball too well and go too early and then strikeout on the stupid high change up that's so unrealistic but kills me every effing time lol
I like that they released offline content that's kind of challenging and rewarding though.

Showdowns are usually harder than anything else, CPU defense and pitching becomes S tier there.

@rubicante23_PSN You can do just this in batting practice.

Relating to this Post and CPU pitching.
IMO. The best offline BASEBALL experience in MLBTS 26 Is vs Stock Rosters in a 9 inni g game vs their # 1 pitcher.
As well on GOAT difficulty.
I feel when I use a team rated around 85/90 with no additional boosts or Captains the game plays tight.
This morning v Pitt and Skenes i amounted onky 7 hits and rarely saw two strikes middle in in any at bat.
I used meter pitching w Roku Sasaki eating up the 1st 4 inni gs in a PEN game.
Meter is too accurate and produces too few mistakes by me.
The best combo is clearly classic pitching where my % of balls vs strikes is higher.
I ended w 7 hits to CPU’s 1
I walked 4 to their 3
I struck out 17 times to the CPU 13.
I am back to classic pitching for a better well rounded morning of 9 inning baseball.
My two cents…

@GoozeFn_PSN thats a useful tool, but it doesnt replicate real human putching. You can set a few pitches and locations, but then you're going to be sitting on those and its not the same. Its also a lot more entertaining in game.
I thought of this because someone mentioned that the extreme showdown might teach people how to hit better on hof difficulty. And I thought "teach you how to hit cpu pitching sure...but probably completely mess you up for human pitching"
Human pitching is just all meta and more meta....and learning how to deal with the meta. Its annoying to me that online and offline feel like two different things.

@rubicante23_PSN You could set it for sinker slider changeup around the edges and get pretty close. You can also pump up the velocity. It’s about as good as you can get for practice.
