Brand new player - throwing help

I've tried everything and every button. HOW do you get the position player you are using to throw the ball ?
I've been at 2nd base and he fields and just stands there. Now in LF its the same thing, which now the runners just circle the bases.
What buttons are used to throw please and thank you -
Go to the settings and under the fielding sub-menu there will be several options.
Some use the buttons, some use the analog stick. Just pick the option that is most comfortable to you.
