Glitch

Wanted to ask to see if anyone else has experienced this. I used to play a ton of online games, but now I have a 1-year-old, so I really only play online games when they drop a new event mission. Just faced a guy and hit a 2-run HR in the 1st inning. Guy paused the game, let the pause timer go all the way to 0:00, and then my controller just disconnected. When I reconnected it and exited the game, I got the loss. Is this a normal glitch people use to get wins? Ridiculous that it's possible, just curious if it's normal.
