How did NMS players complete the live collection?
-
Flippin silver jerseys at 50 stubs a pop.
-
I have completed it every year, NMS. This year is not looking good as the lousy odds have only gotten me Skenes as any of the big stub cards in the live series. Very sad as I support this game every year. 178 hours played and no luck. Actually don't remember ever pulling Ohtani in past years either. I usually, finally, build up enough stubs and have to buy him.
-
i won the mini season but no diamonds in the packs. so for the packs you open do you guys sell all the cards quick sell? is that what Im suppose to do? or just sell the diamond card if I get one?
-
I’m in the same exact boat. Having pulled skenes as my only big diamond all year. It’s a joke and along with everything else pretty clearly sending me a signal to walk away. I will still help my son here and there but my days of hard grinding this game are over.

I QS every non-Diamond unless there is a significant price difference. I completed collection just by nickel and diming my way there by flipping cards that were being ignored by bots.

@LuvMyXBOX_XBL I press triangle on each card (not sure on Xbox) which shows the buy and sell now price. If I can get more than quicksell, I go back and set a sell order for 1 under the current price. If it’s worse than quicksell, I quicksell because there’s not tax. For example, if a bronze is say 50 stubs, I’ll put an order in for 49 because quicksell is 25. If the sell now is below 30, I just quicksell because it’s basically the same or less. I don’t sell uniforms from packs until later because they are still going above quicksell, so I just go through them later. I keep silvers and do the silver to gold exchange.
I always immediately quicksell free agents lower than silver because they are always around quicksell value. Their decision to eliminate the free agent collection makes free agent cards completely useless.

Short answer….I haven’t. And not close. Ohtani, Judge, Ramirez,…..still need them all.
-
I've sold tons of dupes, invested, and best card I probably got from LIve series is Miller, Chapman and Tatis (when he was low 20s). I'm still Judge and Shohei away with about 400k in stubs. Hope some investments from the flash sale will net another 100k but man, it's the hardest it has ever been. Debating waiting til summer when those top 2 may drop cuz no one is playing. I have 95 Miggy and in no rush to finish that one either.
-
It always amazes me how many people I hear say they are Judge and Shohei away or something similar. Buy these guys first. Buy them when they are ~550/350 instead of ~800/500.
-
@GoozeFn_PSN I did AL East first and by the time I had enough for Judge he was already over $500k
-
@GoozeFn_PSN ohtani started out at 500k this year. Judge at 400k. Could have even been more than that. Ohtani was never 350, not even close. So Yeah spend a million stubs within the first 2 or 3 weeks of the game cycle? Is that what you are saying? By the time most people even obtained a million stubs they were way up in price. Your statement amazes me, and your statement is fundamentally incorrect. Who was grinding out a million stubs at the beginning of the game cycle in order to do this? Bottom line is this.. at the beginning of the game cycle if you did not get pack lucky, spend money or sat on the game grinding 10 hours a day the first 3 weeks the game came out, you were not buying ohtani and judge early. So which one of the three categories do you fall under^
-
i saw there is a new Ohtani card coming out as topps now. Maybe this will decrease the price of the live series card.
-
@LuvMyXBOX_XBL unfortunately it will not.
-
We didn't. I am playing this game without a care in the world about packs, cards, or stubs. I'm playing the non-Diamond Dynasty modes. I am not falling for the live service scam part of this game anymore. Done with that mode.
-
@TripleH-4481_PSN Drove me away from Diamond Dynasty mode completely. I still have fun with Road to the Show or the classic, regular season (offline) mode that uses the real MLB team rosters without having to build up "cards" to play. I treat MLB the Show as an offline only game. Heck, with the announcement of PS Plus going up in price, I'm about to stop paying Sony to play online anyway.

@SpawnOfDitka_XBL I never suggested Ohtani was 300. I bought him for 530k and Judge for 350k. People don’t realize how easy it is to get to a million because they keep too many cards. They buy cards that they could get later for a lot cheaper. They keep cards that are way above quicksell when they could sell them and buy them back later at quicksell. I had Ohtani within a few days and then Judge a few days after that. When you understand the market, it’s not difficult at all. Sure it will take more than a few days if you don’t want to flip or do anything like that, but it doesn’t take as long as you are suggesting if you’re smart about it.
-
I did 3 seasons of mini seasons 3 inn 7 games and playoffs from everyones advice.
My reward - one diamond Mason Miller card.
I don't know if I want to do this grind again. It doesn't feel like it's worth it.
-
@LuvMyXBOX_XBL I find it very hard to believe that’s the only diamond. Which mini season and are you completing all the goals?

SMH. There was a time when I only collected non-sell cards and was still well over 1.2 million stubs from completion. I don't understand how difficult it is to comprehend you NEED to do at least one of these things:
Flip/Invest
Spend money
10 win BR runs
Get lucky with pack pullsIf you don't do these you are not getting collections done. Really not hard. I guess you could possibly play 10 hours a day too. I would probably look in the mirror and ask where my life is heading if I'm doing that though.

@GoozeFn_PSN yup this is the way to do it. Knock out the big dogs first.
