Retired Numbers

I'm hesitating buying The Show 26 mainly because of the retired numbers situation. Why is it necessary to put that restriction on the game? In real life, it makes sense. In the game, it doesn't. We pay money to buy the game and can't have our created players wear the number we want them to. I think it's ridiculous and all numbers (including 42) should be released from restriction, at least in Franchise Mode, so that we can make our teams the way we want. This would include having multiple players with the same number if we want to. Until that happens, I probably won't purchase The Show in the future. Maybe someday another gaming company will come along that has more respect for their customers.

Why? There were many players who wore 42 after Jackie Robinson retired including Mariano Rivera, Bruce Sutter, Mo Vaughn, etc. This is a video game and we should be able to use whatever number we want whenever we want.

@skizziks00_psn It's called a grandfather clause. Those players (excluding Bruce Sutter) were allowed to continue using 42 since they first used 42 before the number was retired league wide.
Since your so mad that you can't use whatever number you'd like, why not fuss at all the sports organizations that have retired numbers?

I believe Sony's hands are tied in this matter. Between MLB NBA and NFL, MLB is way overprotective with their imag.
FWIW as an aside, Jackie Robinson wasn't the last player to wear 42 for the Dodgers after Robinson retired in the 1950's. LA issued 42 to a pitcher in the 1960's, Ray Lamb. -
I was gonna buy a game of baseball but not until they unretire Jackie Robinson's number. Sounds reasonable.

I'm curious, when playing as the Yankees (I've never tried), are you allowed to use all their retired numbers? They have quite a few.
