Game is horrible for offline players
-
Well, SDS already got my money this year. This was the first year I ever paid for the early game play. I only started playing in 2018. They are literally pushing everyone towards online game play. I’ve tried online and I suck.. I don’t play video games to be stressed out, I play for strategy and to have fun and escape reality for a minute.. the content is horrible, very slow to out out. There is nothing to grind after one week of content drop . like I said , ya’ll already got my money . So you don’t care, but I hope many offline players boycott next year.

I will be opting out next year. With the degrading status of the game with inconsistent fixes, runners still diving at first base on hits, three years running. Due to poor communication and the fact to not address issues but still push pack and stubs sale. Let's not even talk about the unrealistic collections. Due to all that and age ...I'll be pushing 50....I will be sticking to live ballgames and casual games I can enjoy playing stress-free. Video games release stress not cause it.

This is how all sports game are. Online, especially because of the pack gambling, brings in buckets of money.
Its why I pretty much have no intention of buying sport games in the future unless they seriously up the "franchise" modes of these games and not just do bare min and act like its something new, The Show included.
Stop pre ordering
Wait a month after release to see how the games are
Even then if you want to get, id wait half way through the season when the game is maybe $20 -

Offline players will gamble too. I'm sure they are participating in flash sales a lot.
SDS does a very poor job of monetizing though. Which, of course, is a good thing for us.Its baffling that there isn't a paid tier of inning pass.
But the other DD like modes have been increasing offline content in recent years. There is obviously money to be made there. Online (PvP) just takes way less effort to monetize.

I think a lot of people will with the cheaters, lack of content and LS collections being way out of hand for most. I'm sure I'll buy it again but not going to grind for LS collections like I did this year. It was a colossal waste of time if you don't pull Judge and/or Ohtani.

@easedel_MLBTS The problem is, this isn’t how this sports game has been historically. The last few years have been going that way though. That’s why everyone is upset about content. This game used to be great. Now it’s a greedy mess.

I think getting the game later when it’s cheaper, less people playing, easier to flip, and more rewarding, makes sense.
I used to try and get every card but I’m done with that as it’s not worth the hassle anymore.

@TripleH-4481_PSN I got every card in 2021 and 2022 without spending money. But I’m totally with you. 2023 was hard because they did the 99s all year so there were just too many to collect. The last few years have gone in this direction. And now the game is just awful for offline players.
I wish SDS actually cared about its customers. I used to believe they did. But they don’t want my business. I spent my money as the OP stated and won’t spend more and that makes me an undesirable.
