I’ve never been one to run an all switch hitter line up but I’m the higher ranks I’m playing a lot of people who do. I would like to keep my 3 99s in the lineup but if I switch everybody else to a switch hitter will i notice a big difference? Like let’s say switching Pedroia for Marte and take trout out of right for willi Castro put Brandon Valenzuela behind the plate instead of campy what I’m basically asking is does switch hitting rly make that big of a difference and what does it rly change?

Alot of players like myself struggle L on L, or R on R, so a line up of mostly switch hitters works better. Then platoon a couple of positions. If you can hit R on R, or reverse, then you're good.

@Reesh77_PSN I mean rn I’m in the mid 800s and inside sinkers r on r are killing me. Also could be wrong but aren’t switch hitters helpful against pci shrinkage? I would like to keep miggy Pujols and tulo in the lineup but besides them I made a all switch lineup and even have Carlos Santana on the bench if I’m rly struggling for Albert.

@xRatedGProdigyx_PSN much better then the up and in sinker. I’m fairly good at reading the movement early and I have more time to react usally I use the rule if it’s low let it go if it’s high let it fly.

@xRatedGProdigyx_PSN inside. Usually up in or middle in and i always just find myself late and under I’m probably dropping to far legend and high hof is a lot less forgiving. I also play on tv which probably doesn’t help.

I've always been told to use a monitor because they're more adapt for competitive gaming, although I've also heard that some of the higher-end TVs can get the job done. Does your TV at least get your a 120 refresh rate EDIT also what's response time?

Gotcha. Mid 800s on a TV is very impressive. I don't know how many TV players are here in that competitive rank but maybe they have some hacks to tell ya.

@xRatedGProdigyx_PSN yeah I played my first legend games of the year yesterday and the day before and i literally had to almost guess where the pitcher was throwing if I wasn’t picking up on tendencies I would not have scored a run. I
Think a monitor would be a big help and probably could push me into the 900s if not higher do u have a recommendation for a good monitor for gaming. Mainly the show? Thru off season I just play like madden and nhl so mlb the is the only game I rly need the monitor for.

Until then, if you're struggling vs high sinkers, you could go into practice mode, find a pitcher with outlier sinker, set difficulty to GOAT (and some people will max sliders for pitch speed), then have the pitcher keep throwing it at a spot until you can hit it. Then as you get more comfortable you can add more pitch locations, pitches, etc. That's basically what I've seen streamers suggest when practicing against something they needed to improve against.

Yeah if/when you buy a monitor you can search for best MLB The Show monitors on this forum or Reddit. I purchased a 24" LG monitor for about 150ish three years ago. There's a post from about a year ago at this website with people speaking about LG. https://forums.theshow.com/topic/78209/lg-monitor .

I'm sure there would be updated versions of anything from that long ago. You could also create a more recent post here (or reply to an older one). Since this topic is titled "Switch Hitters" it may not bring the monitor discussion that you're looking for (and people who are more technically savvy then me too). But from what I can tell it sounds like a monitor should help.

If you are used to playing on a bigger TV a smaller monitor will not help you. Going from a 50 inch tv to lets say a 27 inch monitor will be a struggle on the eyes. Yes the monitor is faster, but you will not pick up the pitch as easily as on a 50 inch tv, basically a wash. So if you go monitor you will need spend a bit more and get a bigger sized monitor like a 43 inch. If there is one thing I actually do know its this subject. Even going from 50 to 43 will be an adjustment. Make sure you get a desk, you cant sit far away from it.

@Onix_Savage22_PSN ok then you should be fine. I would definitely go with a 32 inch monitor. Keep the size exactly the same as you are used to. Also make sure its a 16.9, the show does not play in ultra wide, with 1 ms speed or faster, of course 120hz plus capability as well.

@Ditka06_MLBTS Id suggest a little smaller, but yeah a monitor is a must and you don’t have to break the bank.
