Bad Swings Out of the Zone Going Foul
-
SDS, what part of physics says that every bad swing on a ball out of the zone is foul? Just checking.
Game would be so much better if those swings were put into play for outs.

But they aren’t always put into play. This is where it’s really hard to make the game as real as possible. There are hits in real life off balls that bounce off the ground. I don’t believe there is a suitable solution to this without making it impossible to foul the ball off. Otherwise every single pitch would have to be almost dead center of the pci. There are blooper and bat hits all the time in baseball.

The most questionable physics in the game is foul tip strike 3s. They always seem to be on stuff way out of the zone or in the dirt. Yet magically end up in catcher's mitt?

Waaaaaayyy too rewarding to hack at balls out of the zone.
Out of 100 swings on balls out of the zone five probably go for a hit in MLB, 1 for an out in play and 94 fouled off.
