This game is way too hard for beginners
-
I am playing DD on rookie mode and am struggling to win games. Every time I get contact, it's either a ground ball, foul ball or hit right to where an outfielder is conveniently placed. Whenever I have the lead, the computer happens to hit a home run. Tried directional and timed hitting with no success. This is all-star level difficulty, not rookie! I should expect to be hitting home runs every at bat at this level, not constantly striking out. Or even better, they should put an indicator showing me where the pitch is going to go so I know where to swing instead of completely missing the ball! FIX YOUR GAME SDS!
-
Yeah rookie and veteran should both be easier. Other than pitch speeds and PCI size hitting is relatively the same for most difficulties. Makes the learning curve way too steep and new players try it and give up. My son loves baseball and plays the game but would play way more if the CPU wasn’t super dotting on rookie.
-
Before this year, both rookie and veteran were appropriate difficulty levels for new or lower skilled players. I’ve been playing since ’22 and was never great, but I could win 95% of 3 inning games on rookie and veteran and definitely more than 50% on all star offline against CPU. I think it’s two main things: pitch speeds and balls out of the zone. Now I’m swinging too late on rookie level way too often. And on veteran the first two pitches used to be almost always in the strike zone, which is why almost all moments were on veteran in the past except extreme ones because no one wants to walk or be hit by a pitch when you need hits to complete the moment. They should change rookie and veteran difficulty back to the way it was or change those two things (pitch speed and too many balls).

I'm fine.

Good for you troll. Why waste time responding with that nonsense.
-
@tripleh-4481_psn Just stating my experience. Calm down. I can say my opinion and experience.
-
It’s the pitching. There is almost no difference between a common and a diamond. Common pitchers are just as likely to throw 97 with movement and hit corners. I’m not saying it should be “ easy” but you should see some difference.
-
Yep this is a huge issue too. If a common can dot like a diamond and cost 5 stubs compared to 5K-100K stubs something is very wrong. It’s done to slow the grind down plain and simple. Which is great for people who can be on the game all day everyday but for people who only get a few hours here and there it’s garbage.
-
I can win a mini season / conquest game 20-0 and then the next one 1-0 in extras. The 1-0 games can include zapped exit velocity, no-gravity pitches, and good/perfects that are hit straight at a fielder time and time again. It is what it is I guess.
-
Baseball is meant to be hard. Adapt.
-
Yes, conquest plays very feast or famine which is why I always just play for a couple of runs and get thru it for the rewards. It is not great for stat grinding as the low scoring hit the ball right at fielders games are rough.
Seems like every other game is a slog or home run derby. Would love something in between but not holding my breath.

FIX YOUR GAME SDS!
Or maybe you could just get good?

OK
-
@gomalley411_MLBTS What interface are you using for hitting and pitching?
-
Yeah like this clown wasn’t trolling. Saying I’m cool/good offers absolutely nothing of substance. Glad you are good bro. No need to comment.

@theBlindRhino_PSN
It’s not just about easy or hard. It’s about accommodating different types of players. A lot of people are disappointed because their kids were excited to start playing and the leveling gave them a place to start. And some experienced players have hit a ceiling skill-wise. What’s the point of different difficulty levels if they’re making lower ones so hard? If you’re a good player and not wanting lower players to have what you have, then you have to realize that we (yes, I play on rookie and veteran) already complete programs and earn rewards much later than you because you 1) accumulate stats faster, 2) get PXP multipliers on higher levels, and 3) rewards are so much better playing multiplayer online, which lower level players don’t do (or do less often). -
@markemark_NSW Isn't there some big zone hitting pci that was introduced? Are we asking for SDS to introduce a tee so that kids don't have to worry about timing?
-
@theBlindRhino_PSN
Have you even looked at big zone hitting? It’s basically zone hitting with sections instead of dots. And no, I’m not saying make it easier than last year. They should not have made it harder. -
@markemark_NSW No. I have played for years and don't need to. But there is also a retro game in the main menu that I haven't tried. Maybe your kid can try that.
-
@theBlindRhino_PSN retro mode would be the easiest per say I’ve tried it once and it’s literally if ur capable of pressing x u can play.
