Love for Showdown

I never see anybody praising Showdown - it's a great mode. I only see people hating on it. You should have the option to play it on veteran the first time, all-star the second, and hall of fame the third time - and get rewards for each time through. It's not much of a difficulty challenge to beat veteran if you're an okay player.
It points to a bigger divide - it doesn't feel like there's enough experienced and good players that really focus on the offline modes. So, until the "Extreme Program" or something, those modes don't favor any kind of difficulty challenge.
It's like "oh, you want a challenge? - just go play Ranked or BR, and enjoy that lag and steady diet of sinkers..."

They made higher difficulties innately more rewarding this year with PxP. While I get that doesn't apply to showdown, the last thing this game needs is more forced difficulty offline.

The PxP boost doesn't come close to incetivizing play on higher difficulty, though.

Agreed. Most sports games seem to assume that offline/CPU modes aren't meant to be competitive/difficult. Why is the CPU always meant to be the Washington Generals? People on here get mad if the cpu wins - like its not supposed to do that.

Showdowns are great when you beat them, tbh.
The first year, it was cool. Then we got too many double plays against, and too many SC top 10 plays to ruin things.
I like the concept of Showdowns, but not the RNG involved. -
@TheGoaler_PSN you shouldn't ever be grounding into DPs in Showdown. you can always have speed on your team or bench, and you should always be stealing.

I enjoy Showdown…Until I lose a round late then EFF Showdown.

Yeah, but its tough to blame anyone but yourself when they give you 112 outs to drive in 4 runs. I've failed and been mad too, but more mad at myself...unlike online play, where lots of other things go wrong.

I always do! Even if they're 53 overall Commons. I'm talking the first few years of playing Showdowns, and this game in general. They want us to hit into them.

@TheGoaler_PSN absolutely, this game is a double play simulator! that's why you should always steal second. you may get caught a fraction of the time, but it's better than the DP possibility.
