Best Equipment for a Contact + Speed hitter build?
-
Hey everyone,
I’m trying to build a player focused on Contact hitting and Speed/Stealing in MLB The Show 26 and I’m a bit unsure about the best equipment setup.
Right now I’m mainly going for:
High contact / consistent hitting (line drives, singles, high average)
Speed + base stealing
Low strikeout rate (good plate vision / PCI control)
My question is:
What are the best Equipment (archetype perks / perk boosts) for this type of build?
Specifically:
Which Equipment should I prioritize for hitting (Contact vs Vision vs Clutch)?
Are there any “must-have” speed/steal perks for base running?
Is Vision still the most important stat for Contact hitters this year?
Any recommended Equipment combinations that work really well together?
Also curious if anyone has a “meta” setup for a leadoff style player.
Thanks in advance! -
All equipment does now is give a percentage increase of perk effectiveness, and the perk category it effects is based on slot (cleats, socks, bat, etc) not on the actual equipment, so the equipment you use doesn't matter as much. Only the grade of the equipment matters, as diamond is better than gold is better than silver.

originally i liked the equipment being percentage instead of of attributes but this year has taught me the previous way is far superior

I much prefer how it is now because I personally hated how juiced my player would get just because I wanted to wear a certain pair of cleats or batting gloves.

@genopolanco_PSN i miss being able to get over 100 attribute in speed and contact
-
@Deadmankillin_PSN I don’t. Over 100 speed was just cheesy. It’s already way too easy to steal in RTTS. That just made it ridiculous.

@genopolanco_PSN oh i didnt use it to steal i used it to get easy triples

I much prefer it the way it is now, mostly because I want my character to have a choice to wear what I want, not be forced to have a specific thing.
Like, before they changed equipment, you had to wear socks. You just had to, or you were nerfing yourself a good amount. Now I feel safe just skipping them entirely because 4% more perk effectiveness isn't as big an impact.

Thank you all. Have a great weekend.
