2K?
So, you want 90% of cards unsellable?
You want every single best card locked behind real money only packs?
You want to spend $10k real money on one card in the middle of the cycle?
You want 'content' to be literally just packs for sale? -
dont forget all the animations would cost VC too, like pitcher motions running motions catcher stance ect ect.
im voteing saudies

In all fairness......
2K Baseball got a LOT right with their game. Problem is, those games were before 2K Basketball became an extreme pay to win, microtransaction-laden greed fest. Their Season 6 just started this week. The first screen you get to is to upgrade your 'base' ssason pass for guess what? Real money!
2K Hockey was very good as well, but they stopped making those. I still don't know why they stopped.
Say what you will about EA, but they got a lot right with Triple Play Baseball.
Another aspect is that companies may be scared off now, to return to sports game making. Sky high expectations, plus super-toxic gaming communities scare the mess out of even the most ambitious of game makers.
The 'no competition' thing is everywhere.
Look at Amazon. Look at Dunkin. Look at D****s Sporting goods. There's no more Modells or The Sports Authority. We just don't get competition anywhere, anymore, so don't expect it. Say what you want about ESPN, but who's touching them?
Sadly, this world's system is eroding every day. It's leading up to something, for sure....... -
Well the problem is licensing. All the sports games now are exclusive to each brand so there will be no competition.
There are plenty of other baseball games out there but none like this. The NHL sim is owned by EA and is PS only bc it dosnt sell due to how bad it is. And they do the same thing, remove stuff from 10 years ago and add it back later saying its a new feature.
2k will literally with all 900 batting stances in the game make them cost 5 bucks + each to unlock after you hit certain stats that along with catching styles throwing styles every movement of your "custom whatever creator" you would have to boost with VC Per character. VC Gatorade boost and all that. And you would still have all the the cheating problems they would do zero about it even in tournaments and all that. But it prolly would be better than Sony least the game would look pretty and they might add a open world area. Could you do it w/o vc? sure but everyone will just boost to 85 overall like they do in nba 2k would prolly take you a good 2 or 3 weeks playing 12 hours a day to get the correct stats need for that kind of hitting animation. If your HT is correct and all that too =p cant be too tall or short!
I vote for Saudies or 10 cent
USA cant cut it with sports games anymore. They are just trying to add stuff on old code. They even brought a couple things back this year that were in the game 10 years ago gas lighting it is new. -

US-Based companies always are greedy, putting things in the game we don't want.

didnt valve just sell to someone?
-
@xxsolisxx_psn That was EA. It got sold to the Saudi government. Probably gonna make the games even more P2W.
-
Ah, i think valve honestly is happy just being a host makeing money over fist. And i dunno, lets see in a couple years what changes EA makes too games if any. At least its in other peoples hands now, everything starts somewhere =p They could go with greed, or they might rage and fire everyone and hire none nerds that play the games.
Either way im happy a change was made, Brings me hope, false or not.
-
EA, anyone?
-
It’s honestly not that bad, you’re just being dramatic. That’s why you should be mentally mature in order to play these games. You kids get on here and cry over everything.
-
Screw EA and 2K making another baseball game. I want to see what OOTP can do with a console game thats not text only.

I'd like to see what happens if Konami actually offers a more polished game in this market. That new F2P is a pretty decent simulation that does a lot of things right, and some where this game just flat out misses... where fielding is concerned, I couldn't have told you where TS felt off, exactly, but a lot of things that happen with the ball in play don't feel right. After spending some time with the Konami game, you can see how they intentionally focused on the time in which it takes events to unfold; balls driven into the gap hang up there for a bit, fielders take time to get there and simply don't move fast enough to cut everything off... it just feels better. It makes me smile playing it. This one doesn't anymore.
And I'm not saying its a better game, because it's stark, but the makings of a good simulation is there. It's fun, unless you're into smashing homeruns more frequently than you hit singles and want average exit velocities of 100+.
Regardless, it's time for someone else to push harder toward a more sim-style game and give a little love to pitching and defense. They matter. I know this game has its market, but I don't think it's for me, as-is... just ordered the NPB version of Konami's and plan to get my baseball fix this year running seasons using Hanshin and the Fighters. I'll miss the online play (but will play the F2P if I need it), but at least I'll get to learn a little Japanese while working my way through the menus.
