Time to take accountability for the state of the game
-
Agreed, but my point is that they're not going to admit that they screwed up and use inferior servers.
I doubt they'd humble themselves to acknowledge that they might have been too ambitious with their menus, and all that's involved with their massive launch content. -
@TheGoaler_PSN Agreed true. Well then if they can no longer make a proper game that works. Its a money grab. As long as the stock holders are happy.

It's a shame things are so screwy at launch, but we can use Kaiju monsters in created stadiums again 🤪

@TheGoaler_PSN
what i always wanted! -
My first year of finally standing ground and not purchasing this game. In my opinion the only way they will ever do so much as even acknowledge the issues we’ve been plagued with.
-
Problem is not enough people will hold off due to their love of baseball. Plus for every $70 or $100 game purchase they may lose there are a ton of people dropping thousands of dollars on the game at launch that offsets those lost sales by a mile.
There is a reason they give away copies of the game to streamers because they know it’s free marketing for their game plus they will spend thousands of dollars on day 1, write it off as a business expense, and pump out content using cards the vast majority of the player base won’t come close to for months.

Yup. And those streamers will post a goofy/perplexed/happy face for the videos, to boot 🤪

@TripleH-4481_PSN yep! This^ better to make profits then make a game that actually works and makes the player base happy. Why cant they do both! Profit and fix the game is my question...
-
Agreed. In the end we are just baseball fans that want to have fun playing a game. Unfortunately, greed ruins it, profits become the be all end all. In this case SDS looks bad but it could very well be Sony calling the shots and cutting every corner imaginable to pocket an extra dollar.
I still enjoy the game for what it is because I love baseball. However, I’m definitely frustrated with the decline in quality, increase in bugs, and worsening pack odds manipulated by extremely low end diamonds that have made everything quick sell except high diamonds.

I think this is a pretty accurate statement. And this has been true for several years, now.
I will not hold off because of my love for baseball... and because I have realistic expectations of what it is I'm buying. We all want constant updates and new content throughout the entire cycle, and then wonder why the new game is basically the same when it launches. That's the part I don't understand. If you like WoW, you play Wow, for years, and every few years you get a large upgrade, but it's mostly the same game.
The "new" Show is just the same Show (and I happen to enjoy the game) with a few new features, and why that surprises everyone is beyond me. I'd love to understand the logic of those who think that, somehow, we're going to get a brand new product that works perfectly when the studio has been busy, all year, creating content for the old game. By now, we should all know what we're getting, and there's really no excuse for thinking otherwise. We either like the game at its heart, or we feel like it has so far to go that it's simply not a good game. If you belong to the latter camp, that's fine, and if you only want the game if they've taken a major leap forward, or until they've fixed all the bugs that existed only months or weeks before the "new" launch, also fine; but then you really shouldn't buy it until you've seen enough to confirm that.
It's also appropriate to take accountability for our own decisions, and to manage our own expectations appropriately.
I'm not saying that people shouldn't voice their opinions and point out what they'd like to see worked on (I want a real strike zone, for instance), but if you are shocked at the state of the game, every year, and upset that they keep taking your money... well, at least some of that is on you.

I don't agree with you often, but I agree with this.
-
@Ditka06-_MLBTS Careful! The brown nosers and SDS a$$ kissers will call you a cry baby for wanting a game to work properly!

They are shilling for more diamonds lol
-
I have entered the mindset of every other year purchase.
Since I am a franchise player, 25 and 26 are very similar from my accounts
I have an updated 26 roster.
I'm realistic that we won't get major updates every year, but stacking two years together, seems to be easier for my to shell out the 70$.
-
@The_Joneser_PSN so I should take accountability for purchasing a game and actually want said game to work properly? This is beyond the few bugs situation now brother, when you cannot even play an online game past the first inning. I dont think any of us were expecting the game servers to get worse. Yeah let's blame the consumer instead of the multi million dollar company. Makes sense. That being said the consumer is partly to blame for purchasing and putting up with it. I some what agree. The main responsibility is on the company to make sure they supply a good product.
-
@Ditka06-_MLBTS, I don't know what to tell you about that... that hasn't been my experience. In my 48 hours of play so far (only 9 Ranked games, and only a handful of BR or events, but lots of Mini Seasons and lots of Conquest), I have yet to be kicked from a single game.
There are things that frustrate me, but the game works. I see absolutely no difference in the state of the servers now than throughout the last cycle, with the exception of slow menus at the start.
Sorry you're having a hard time with it, but I seem to remember you having trouble with it last year, also...
And notice that I didn't say "blame the consumer"; I said that if we keep choosing the same things despite being repeatedly disappointed and expecting things to get better when there's really no reason to believe things have gotten better, then we should also look at our own decision making process. That's not a value judgement on you as a human being.
I'll say this, and I'll leave it be: the reason people get such pushback when making generalized comments like "the game doesn't work" is because that is not everyone's experience. Maybe it's regional. I don't know. But it isn't universal, and when people start calling other people bootlickers or offer some other jejune pseudo-analysis when they encounter others who are having a fine time, those people react.
I get it. You're having issues with the game. That sucks and I'm sorry you aren't able to enjoy it. I hope whatever it is gets worked out for you.

I have only had issues playing the first 5 minutes of EA, and the launch night which was a disaster. Other than launch night, I have never been kicked from game. I have had a grand total of 2 line up screen freezes in the last two years (both last year). Now that i no longer live in Australia my online games play a LOT smoother.
That said I have seen 2 bugs with the WBC miniseason: one where i had to reenter it to get my 10 pack (if i had reset it I would have lost it), and one just today where a wheel spin after the last pool game left me unable to leave the miniseason so I played the next game to ensure I wouldn't lose my playoff status. Neither of these should be a thing.
I see some weird quality issues, like Drake Baldwin's head, or the laughable state of some of the WBC player models. I see things SDS say they are doing not being reflected in game: I don't believe they mean to lie here, but its still not a good look.
At the end of the day though, I have a lot of fun playing. Its the best gameplay out of the major sports games. DD is still very NMS friendly, and while I dont agree with their decisions a lot of the time I think the content team puts a lot of effort in compared to what 2K does.
I can say this with 100% honesty: I would rather have the current state of DD than one that is PS6 level of graphics ahead of time with flawless servers and no bugs and ARod/Ty Cobb/Pete Rose/Barry Bonds/entire 86 Mets but had even halfway between SDS and 2K monetization
If i were a franchise or RTTS player though I would absolutely be an every other, or every 3rd year, player.

️. I get it. Not always easy to agree with -
I would be happy to complain, but the only bug I ran into is the 9 innings MS stamina one. Haven’t been disconnected yet in online games. Completed WBC MS without a hitch. Sorry
