I like most modes in this game, but hate playing 9-inning H2H. I understand why it's the default mode for "competitive play," but I hate starting these games for these reasons...

    1. I constantly have things to do and don't like to be stuck for 9 innings
    2. Servers and lag - even worse if you're stuck for a long game with it
    3. Meta all the time - ever more annoying when it's a long game to deal with the constant meta (Switch hitter galore, every pitcher throws 99 velo, cutter-sinker spam, Coors, etc.) - I know how to deal with these things, but it's annoying.
    4. Lots of cheesy cheeseball players

I really wish there were a 3 or 6-inning option that would boost your rank. I'm perfectly capable of getting to 800, but hate playing full Ranked games.

Couldnt agree more!! 6 inning ranked games would be perfect. Even 5 innings. 9 innings of sweat fest is just too much at times. I think 90 percent of the player base would be happy with this. If im going to sweat my [censored] off in ranked at least let the games go by quicker.

I wish more of my ranked games actually went the full 9 innings. Most players quit before the game is over.

Ranked should be 9 innings. Having 1 standard mode where you replicate the true 9innings is needed.

I agree, I wish they would get rid of BR and add a new “salary cap” 6 inning mode where you choose 2 diamonds from your binder, 3 golds 5 silvers etc and make it 6 innings with ranked style rewards.

@bjd10048_MLBTS I remember a couple years back, they used to have tournaments with a similar situation. They were only 3 innings, but you had like 2 diamonds, 5 golds, 10 silvers etc or something like that. It was awesome. Using the whole collection. Wish they brought that back

Agreed. I've said for years if they truly wanted diversity in lineups they needed a salary cap for ranked. Make players have to pick a diamond or two, gold, silvers, bronzes and yes commons to fill a team. But nope got to sell stubs and packs.
Or give a salary and non salary cap option?

It would br the greatest addition ever if they let you choose to play 6 or 9 inning ranked.
The salary cap thing is cool idea too
Man i wish they let you choose 6 inning

I like the 9 innings, as long as we have other choices. I'm fairly certain they used to have 6 inning event games in like 2019 or maybe I'm wrong. I'm sure they had quick counts, which are gone now.
