A Game Full of Random Bugs
-
I’m writing this because there are too many bugs showing up while playing RTTS in MLB The Show 26.
First, the Flamethrower perk condition was supposed to be relaxed to “1 or 2 outs.”
However, in actual gameplay it only activates with 2 outs, which clearly looks like a bug.
Another issue is related to token experience bonuses.
After raising my player’s Potential to Grade A, when comparing with another player at the same position between Double-A and Triple-A, the screen clearly shows a +1.5x Token XP bonus next to the potential indicator.
During the 2x XP event, the game correctly applies the bonus (1.5x + 2x).
But once the event ends, the 1.5x bonus stops applying and it goes back to normal 1x XP, even though the potential bonus should still be active. This also appears to be a bug.
There may be other issues as well, but those will need more time to confirm.
What I really want to ask is this:
How long are paying customers expected to be the ones discovering and testing bugs in the game?
And more importantly, are these bugs actually going to be fixed?
In MLB The Show 25, there were already serious perk issues.
For example, some perks activated in the opposite situations from what they were supposed to.
A baserunning perk would activate at the plate, but not during actual baserunning situations.
Those problems were never fixed until the next game came out.
Overall, I do enjoy RTTS in The Show 26, but issues like this really make me not want to play the game.
Token grinding is already difficult, so things like token XP bonuses and perk mechanics should at least work correctly without bugs.
Please listen to the players.
If the mindset becomes “we already got your money, so that’s it,” it could eventually become a very serious problem for the game and its community. -
I’m playing a 2 way player stuck in AA with an A rating and the 1.5 token bonus as well. When I first came in they had me compared with a AAA starter Carlos Lagrange that had an OVR 63. I was already 64 OVR. I played the first games and met all my goals, was advanced to A rating. My comparison pitcher was changed to a reliever named Dom Hamel with a rating of 58. I have not gotten any new goals at all. It’s been a month, I played not sim my games. My current rating is 70, still in AA. There are 2 starting pitchers in AAA I have surpassed including Lagrange.
Also side note what happened to the camera focus jon base runner when holding left trigger? Using that little window to the upper corner does not feel rp like.

@qorrbcks55_psn Have you tried using the coaches/. I have not gotten the 2X from them at all. I’ve tried all the pitching coach and hitting coaches, I’m just not seeing any bonus.

The only 2x event bonus I received was the one given when I entered pro after finishing the high school and college stages. That’s the only one I had.
I also played as a two-way player.
If you’re playing two-way as well, is the 1.5x bonus consistently applying for you? -
@qorrbcks55_psn I have not had the 1.5 bonus show up at all. This year seems much more of a grind than past years, I wouldn’t mind it if they added more stadiums. It gets boring playing in the same places, especially since minors are 6 game series. I wish they would let us use some from stadium creators. Then devs wouldn’t have to make them.

When your potential reaches Grade A, a home run should give 150 tokens instead of the normal 100 because of the 1.5x bonus.
During the 2x event, it actually works as expected — hitting a home run gives 300 tokens, which is the correct calculation.
But once the 2x event ends, the 1.5x bonus disappears and it goes back to the normal amount, which makes no sense.
Honestly, it already feels like token progression will be much harder this year compared to last year.
What really frustrates me is that bugs like this seem to exist every single year, and even when people bring them up in the community, they never get fixed.
That’s what makes this so incredibly frustrating. -
@qorrbcks55_psn It is so frustrating, I just hit a bomb with no one on base and received 100.

I find it hilarious that they give us the chance to play our senior year for a back-to-back. They even gave us a goal if we do, but the announcers never acknowledge it.
