Whats worse is i started playing back in 2018..i got into it because mlb the show was nothing like madden or fifa or nba2k

I fell in love with baseball again.
Grew up during the sosa/bonds era.

Became a fan of the orioles watch them growing.

    Now 2026.

Mlb the show is worse than madden and fifa and nba2k combined.

From 2018-2022 you could play the game 1000000% for free literally no money spent.

I completed live series and other collections within the 1st month easy no money little effort, i just grinded moments, conquest maps(repeating ones) and got rewards for ranked seasons while improving my team.

From 2018-2022 we didn't have no sale cards. Anything and everything was saleable or flippable.

Cards wasn't capped at a set market value example 84s83s82s81s80s79s78s77s76s75s74s73s72s71s70s69s68s67s66s65s64s

All cards was directly affected by supply and demand it was easier to earn stubs. Yeah collectively the 2018-2022 collections was more expensive as a whole but our means to earn stubs from literally just playing the game was unlimited.

Programs didn't have soft or hard caps

Now Majority of collections now are locked behind limited packs..

5 live series cards are worth more than all other live series cards combined.

Packs are hard to come by via playing the game especially the packs that have other non live series cards.

So its best to sell those to get as much stubs as possible to complete the live series collections for the 99s which 1 or 2 of em will be viable by games end but by the time you can complete the collections now they'll have little to no value.

I left madden and nba for mlb the show.

2018-2022 was peak and we'll never get that again because the community let them nickle n dime us started in 2023 and has only gotten worse year by year.

I'll have to agree to disagree with you. While last year gameplay suffered, I completed LS collection and I stopped playing only being 2 cards shy of Josh Donaldson and having 3.5 million stubs im the till and every othed collection completed., alll NMS.

20 is such a low limit. If they HAVE to impose a limit, they need to raise it.

What happens if I have 20 of the same player and then get another of that player in a pack?

Stacks. You just cant PURCHASE more than 20 at once.

Also, you can buy 20 of a player, sell all 20, and the buy 20 again.

ohhhhhh! That clears it up, thanks lol. Would be ridiculous if they just yoinked a 21st player into the void

@ApolloZ_99_MLBTS I'm playing MUT and CUT instead of MLB The Show right now. They provide better value, with EA actually showing a bit more respect for customers over the past calendar year. That's part of why it's so frustrating to watch SDS trun to the Dark Side this season. They already weren't improving the game each year, but at least they hadn't been greedy until now. With MLB26, they are, and they've even overcorrected on it to boot.

I'm in MLB The Show Discords, and the players are just miserable. It's no way to build a fan base or community, but SDS must learn that the hard way. Incompetence and greed have consequences.

    @TheRupster12_XBL i played since 2018.

Its noticeable they amount of effort you have to put in has increased exponentially.

I have completed collections since 2018.

With ease little effort at all.

    In 2026.

    20 card limit.
    No sale cards.
5 live series cards take up all of the value.
Too many packs that you have to spend money to obtain other collections.

Your baseing your ability to collect every soling on random generated numbers and entirely luck based.

    From 2018-2022

    I earned more stubs
Card flipping from 2018-2022 was a trillion times easier

Card flipping in 2026 most cards your lucky to flip for 200 stubs

All golds at 83 are set at a set value

Cards used to not have set values limited based on overall thats a fact.

From 2018-2022 we earned more packs from conquest and programs and rank.

The only time cards was gate kept was the event rewards and ranked world series was limiting to those that won/was good. Now its easier to get world series rewards.

But overall its harder to complete collections because of restrictions and limitations sds has put on the market.

You are literally defending a company robbing its player base.

I literally played madden from 2005-2017 and quit because mut was extremely monetization to the point you had to spend money or play 24/7 literally.

I went to mlb the show i enjoyed it because diamond dynasty was extremely easy to get cards and good ones very quickly and easy. Flipping cards was easy i could sell everything i average 1-2 million extra stub.

Literally go look at 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026 and notice what changes they have made to market, how cards are obtained, how many more cards are locked behind packs that are purchased(not everyone pulls the best card)

Its objectively a fact sds has literally made changes on how diamond dynasty functions whether how much stubs you can earn. Limitations on market or how things are obtain.

    Go look.

Literally its too subtle year to year to notice

But from a person that has only play video games and does literally nothing else with their lives.

Im telling you sds is doing this on purpose.

They want more money from stubs sales.

And if they keep getting greedy stub sales will have a peak but eventually people will buy less stubs because of how little they get in return.

    @ApolloZ_99_MLBTS i played madden from 2005-2017.

I got in mlb the show because of how easy to get all cards from 2018-2022 was.
Sds has in fact objectively blatantly made subtle changes to how stubs are obtained, adding no sale cards(,can get duplicates) , limiting mass sales for mass flipping/ gambling on roster updates.

Cards used to not be set at a set value they changed it to where card 83 would by default have a set value.

Cards values used to be set by the players supply and demand.

Sds is manipulating the market with subtle changes over the past 5 years.

Like i don't have a life i only play video games.

I'm telling you from 2018-2022 completing collection and earning stubs was so easy.

It has gotten progressively harder over the last 5 years.

Sds has made changes to diamond dynasty and the market every year for the last several years.

Not a coincidence that they made those changes and it harder to earn stubs abd completing collections

I have done no money spent since 2018.
    2018 millions of extra stubs
    2019 millions of extra stubs
    2020 millions of extra stubs
    2021 millions of extra stubs
    2022 millions of extra stubs

    But 2023 less
    2024 even less
    2025 even less
2026 cant even break 100k stubs and im 2 million away from completing the live series collection (i own majority of the collection)

I once completed the live series in like 2 weeks because i got lucky and pulled both ohtani and judge.

Thats entirely luck and has nothing to do with how easy it is to flip cards or get stubs from playing the game or get rewards that i can sell.

I have more cards i cant sell than i do cards i can sell.

That wasn't the case 8 years ago

Which btw nms is just a way of coercion to get the masses to think its possible to do nonchalantly.

2021 they added no sale cards(low amount)

Each year since they've added more items that cant be sold which effects the market and things people can't sell to then use to buy orher stuff.

2022/2023 they made the change where sell now values and was restricted for overalls 84-64(the commons)

A 83 card no one has selling for the same as a 83 overall everyone has is not how supply and demand works. Thats blatant market manipulation by sds.

    Sds has made 84-40 worthless.

And made high overall diamonds cards that are rarer to obtain means younhave to open even more packs then you used to 8 years ago because i could sell 4 83s for 5k each and then get a low end diamond

The fact that you actually have to play the game to make stubs and get cards should not be a negative. If your definition of no money spent is getting every card handed to you with as little work as possible, then this year is going to be a disappointment for you.

@Grungypunk_MLBTS if you want to day trade aka flip and make stubs aka make money go to Robinhood. The spring breakout collection you didn't have to buy a single card and the egg hunt there is no collection. Play the game earn cards earn stubs earn packs and you'll complete collections. 20 card limit is a big W for the game. I have the AL done another 250k in stubs and 20 of 10 players who should be getting upgrades including 5 golds. Live series cars will be playable in online competitive modes longer this year than any other years past w/ mods and inside edge that's why prices are high. Get on Robinhood short oil make some money this is a video game not a day trading platform

@Grungypunk_MLBTS you claim that LS gatekeepers and overall collection is going to be more expensive than ever. That's bc w/ mods and inside edge those cards will play online until the all star game drop. You say that completing collections for content drops are locked behind pay walls. When in fact half of the content drops didn't even have a collection and the WC collection can be completed to get Garcia by playing the game. You're mad they put a 20 card max on so you can't flip cards and get collections done within the first month of the game. As a NMS player after the first update I'll have LS collection complete it's doable just not as easy nor should be. With the power creep and overalls being way down to start this year having 99s and high 90s in the game from LS collection would ruin the game. Play the game more you'll get better win more earn more stubs more packs more rewards all of which will help you get closer to LS collection. This isn't the early 2010 anymore complain about judge being 500k and ohtani 700k trout wasn't doing what either of them have been doing in years or even last year so of course the gate keepers are going to be higher the players are better. Flipping is possible just not at the quantity and margins as years past which is a good thing. If you want to flip cards aka day trade go download Robinhood it's a video game play the game

@cusejuice315_PSN your defending a million dollar company and ignoring the fact that i dont do anything with my life but on play video games and from 2018-2022 i had zero issues an complete collection and had a ton of stubs vs every year since 2023 they have literally made changes literally like in the most literally way possible made changes to literally reduce the amount of stubs players can make from selling cards for stubs or from just playing the game.

I literally did that from 2018-2022.

I am the no money spent.

I see it blatantly your literally ignoring the fact that i who literally had zero issues from 2018-2022 but now i point out blatantly examples of changes sds has made.

Why can you not connect the dots.

From 2018-2022 i had no problems.

    But 2023-2026.
    What have the changed?

Cards are set at a pre set value/quick sell

All 83s are valued at the same prices regardless of supply and demand.

They added no sale cards as a fake to say its for "collections"

When in reality its a decoy.

We get less but with no sale cards its an illusion.

This has literally nothing to do with stock trading or what ever a.i [censored] your feeding me. Your probably a bot or a suit defending sds.

Sds can go [censored] them selfs you greedy [censored] suckers

This is sds manipulating the market. This was done in 2022 and mad worse in 2023 and worse since.

This doesn't benefit the player base at all.

It's a hinder to true authentic supple and demand.

And then in 2023 they added a ton of no sale cards(which in previous years you could sell anything and everything if you didn't need it to go for other collections or things you wanted.

These 2 things literally hindering players from earning more stubs

    Thats just a blatant fact.

I earned more stubs from 2018-2022.

I have no life i play nothing but video games

I am the no money spent.

Sds has gotten greedy since 2023.

Stop defending them take your ego out your [censored] and stand up for your fellow gamers and defend them from getting [censored] over by a greedy corporation.

This is exactly why i stopped playing madden and 2k.

    Sds had it balanced.

You had 2 ways of doing things.

1 get every card by spending money.

Or get every card by just playing the game.

I have to play mlb show every day all day flip cards all day. Just to complete everything in a month maybe.

It used to not be like that.

I used to be able to complete the live series collections in a week or so.

@Grungypunk_MLBTS that's what happens when you grow the game. Introduce Xbox and to a lesser extent Nintendo users into the fold there's that much more demand prices go up. Completing live series within the first month or two without any top tier pulls is completely reasonable. Prices have gone up bc there's more demand and the LS cards will play longer than any other year w/ mods and inside edge. With the increase in influencers promoting flipping methods the margins are not what they used to be and it's not as easy. If you want to complain about anyone complain about the influencers blowing it all up. Anytime there's a way to exploit a system no matter it is in life it doesn't make sense to continue to allow it to happen coming from an owners pov. So 75% of the community can have LS completed a month in before they even release content above 92. Slower drip on the overalls means LS prices stay high. More people playing DD means prices stay high. There's still plenty of obtainable cards to put together a viable squad for online play
