Secondary Position in RTTS The Show 26

i actually like the number 9 change since now you can aim your pitch with the slide step. Before unless i was doing it wrong it would just auto pitch it down the middle for the slide step since you had to hold L2 wich made you face the runner.
But that could have been with just the pitching mode i guess. i dont think that one is a big deal since you have him on camera anyway on the upper right if your screen. I feel its like the token counter, whats the point of watching your token gains count up one by one when the total is already on the top left of your screen.
i mean sometimes that thing takes a min or two to count bc you have like 50 on a great double exp game and its not apart of the loading screen timer. So you have to wait for it to count and count when its already done in the upper left, then when its done you have to wait on the loading screen its like man. I have time to go to the bathroom
but you really dont, bc you have to hit continue for the loading screen after the counter
-
Before you aimed the pitch first then pulled trigger for slide step.
-
No, it would reset to center if you did that. I don't think turn auto centering off was in the game in 25 or lower or i would have found it like i did in 26.
I kinda wana load up older version of the game now to see if im crazy or not
but i feel like im competent enough to have figured that out

I’ve never had a problem, select pitch aim (hold stick in position) pull trigger, either pick off or pitch. That’s the way I’ve been doing since 07 never had an issue with meatballs. If you still have 25 try it. Hope it helps. I want tge view back completely ruins immersion when using the window.
-
tbh if they brought back what you want i would just adjust with the new non auto center toggle. What pitch mode did you play 25 and prior? i use pulse bc I cbf drawing and doing input timers that could be the reason why re auto centering is a problem for me it just does it in that mode like there are many things diff in each play mode fullgame/dynamic/my plays that you never see in each other.

That might be it, I used to work in a power plant and crushed my thumb closing a railroad car while unloading coal. For that reason I use button classic controls. The original control scheme from the beginning. The left stick can not be moved until pitch or pick off throw is made.

I think i found one of the reasons why there is no Secondary position.
So as a Positional Catcher certain perks work for it like Cannon Arm ect. But if you are a two way player Cannon Arm does not work for the Catcher. The text is even different for both characters, being pitcher is outfield only and Catcher it works for you.
I dont think the game can handle the swapping of perk per position on the fly.
I thnk thats why they got rid of loadouts since they would break all the time and never worked on release when they first came out.
-
It wouldn’t make everyone happy long term but at bare minimum they could at least let us have secondaries where the perks wouldn’t need adjustments. It would be better than nothing.

Exactly

@Tandil1368_XBL completely agree. I bought this years game not expecting big changes to graphics and all but at least could grind for new gear and such….that’s not even a thing since it’s exactly the same gear as we had last year…just with less of a chance to actually get said gear because 20/20 equipment packs. What a freaking joke. So wish another company would make a baseball game so there would at least be an option and at best there would be some competition to actually listen to your customers.
-
@braves137_PSN that would be great. When is the deal done? When could another developer possibly take over?

Well, there is just so much ground truth to this post. I mean, if the reason why SDS refused to support secondary fielding positions for primary lineup players, is that SDS was concerned that their perks won't work ideally, then it strikes me that SDS has truly lost their way.
I mean RTTS is an offline game mode. There is no one to be cheated here. Who cares if the perk works perfectly! I mean just because a player works at a secondary position doesn't mean he's just as good playing that position. The reason why most MLB players work at secondary positions isn't to be the best at those second positions, but to increase their values to the team to cope with injuries and to reduce fatigue in veteran players.
Like I wrote before, SDS used to be a company run by people whose passion in life was to create the best video game simulation of the game of baseball -- a game each of them loved. Those were the old days when SDS created the best baseball game on the market. Those days are long gone now!
Today, SDS is squeezing every drop of profit out of a game that has languished with trivial changes over the last five years, with those few changes made having far more to do with post-sales revenue stream hunting than making the game more faithful to actual baseball.

Nothing is stopping another company from licensing the MLB brand from MLB. At one time MLBTS, EA, and 2K sports had MLB games eall at the same time.
EA had the smoothest gameplay on multi platform of all 3 at the time, it had basic features but best graphics at the time. EA was the first to drop MLB licensing because they had exclusive rights to NFL for Madden and it was starting to get real expensive to keep NFL.
2K made a decent game also like EA was multi platform it had some glitches but really had some cool stuff. When it would rain instead of spending the entire game listening to announcers complain about umpires calling it and how it would affect pitchers they actually called a delay and a crew rolled tge tarp on the field. 2K was a glitchy but no worse than MLBTS. Career mode in that game was just like RTTS , it even had secondary positions. 2 way players were not yet available. I’m not saying it was a better game but it did have some great ideas.
Back then MLBTS was only available on PSP, Vita, PS2, PS3 I am not sure why 2K dropped but I wish they would come back. SDS has been complacent for years now not listening to customers because they just don’t have any competition.
-
That's exactly right. It was never MLB that worked with SDS to create a sole baseball video game. In fact, the only case I am aware of where a major sports league deliberately worked to create a monopoly was with the NFL and EA Sports and the Madden title. The NFL extracted a truly monumental scale of money for that exclusive contract.
In response, it seems the other rather limited number of software companies decided on their own to specialize by choosing one or perhaps two major sports to focus on and self-eliminating all others. For the longest period of time, these companies sought to release a title for all the major sports.

They kind of did make it exclusive for now. MLB requires the game to be multi-platform AND old gen tech. I can’t imagine EA or 2K or anyone else would want to invest all the man hours into using tech that’s old and slowly going away. Maybe once MLB allows next gen only they’ll want to take a crack at it, but not going to happen until then.
-
No, the only reason it’s required is because no other company has stepped forward to make a game with the MLB license. SDS got a huge discount to use tge licensing for making it multi platform since it was only company currently willing to create a game.

Last year we were giving the excuse that the switch 1 was a reason for holding back on some features and i think graphics. So they could only do so much because of that.
