Name a legend that moves the needle.
-
Depends on what kind of needle we’re talking about. Bonds, ARod, and Canseco all moved plenty of needles. McGwire, Sosa, Ortiz, and Palmeiro are all also bigtime needle movers who are in the game.
-
I get everything you say. Someone like Puckett most people who play video games I feel will be like, oh cool, Kirby and play him not stopping to think about any allegations just because he is a legend. Someone like Rose okay, I get it there is obviously way too much baggage with him. I think it would be the same for the steroid era players that people will oh cool, look at what I got and use their cards. I assume it's scant minority that complains about such players while the majority can careless. Maybe I'm wrong.
-
I tend to agree. Especially for guys like Puckett that arent profiting off it anyway.
-
@DrBear100_PSN With Pete Rose dead and reinstated, he should be brought into the game.
-
If we ever lose Honus Wagner, my heart will break into a million pieces.

Robin ventura was my favorite player... So him

I get both sides of the argument, he carries [censored] ton more baggage then most that found their way into trouble, I do lean towards letting him into game. He's not going profit off of it being dead. He's estate would though.
-
@DrBear100_PSN I doubt many fans of this game care about his controversy.

Agreed
-
I do. And I'm generally quiet about that kind of stuff on here. I'm sure many others care as well. Just like social media though, some of the loudest voices here are the type who don't care about right/wrong and just want to see things implemented the way they want to 'own' the other side.
But just because a few of you bring it up doesn't mean Alomar, Rose, Puckett, et al will ever be in the game.
And I for one am very happy to know that -

And I for one am very happy to know thatSo basically, you're doing what you say other people are doing. Trying to "own the other side". How does it benefit you or make your life better in any way to know that these players won't be in the game? You're happy about it because it means you can "own" those of us that don't give a [censored] about their off-field issues.
What's wrong with having options? You don't wanna use them, great...you don't have to. That doesn't mean the rest of us shouldn't have that choice.
-
I'm happy that people who did awful things aren't in my favorite video game. If you're indifferent to the terrible things they did, including pain and suffering they caused to some, then I have little sympathy for you
-
I’d add Ichiro and Deion (I know he wasn’t the greatest, but then man does move needles.)
Ichiro for sure! Does he still have the deal with Japanese Baseball that kept them from signing him?

Notice the BIGGEST needle movers aren’t in the game. Bonds and Canseco.

I 'Met' Ventura twice in 2000. Once in the first half of the season, the other the 2nd.
Soooper nice guy. I worked for the parking company back then. Got to work the players parking lot a few times, so I got to meet a lot. McGwire, Piazza, Leiter, Vlad Sr., etc!! It was nuts. A baseball fan's dream. 98% my co-workers were clueless about baseball. I was in heaven!!!!
One thing I'll never forget is meeting Mike Hampton twice, 1st half then 2nd half. The 2nd time, I could tell he wasn't really 'feeling' NY. I wasn't shocked when he left.
Was he in the show? I can't remember. He could hit as well!
I miss the days of homering with pitchers! -
I’m terrified of losing Wagner as well. I never played the game when Cobb was in. I feel like he’d be a similar hitter to Honus but left handed. He’s also strictly an outfielder. I really want Cobb in the game. I love the nostalgia of those SUPER old players. It hurt to lose Walter Johnson last year. I don’t get that. He didn’t have a long windup and he was super fun to play with. Tris Speaker is another guy players talk about. Never got to play with him either.
-
@Easy_Duhz_It__PSN People feel good about pretending to have moral superiority as if a guy in a video game matters. Just don't use them if you want to feel morally superior.
-
Did Mariano Rivera warrant being kicked out the game?

The things they did have nothing to do with baseball. I'm guessing you don't watch any tv shows or movies because Hollywood is full of disgusting perverts, drug addicts and some pretty vile human beings. Some of which you probably don't even know about. You should probably cut yourself off from all forms of entertainment to keep yourself safe.
