Does anyone here have MLB.TV?
-
I cut the cord last year and went "internet only". I don't have an ESPN subscription, but was looking at doing MLB.TV. It requires setting up an ESPN subscription, which is free for one month, then you can cancel.
Anyone else have this situation? Thank you...
-
I usually get it from the T-Mobile free offer, which doesn't start until 3/24(?)
-
I have the T-Mobile subscription as well. From my understanding the espn subscription is not needed after initial signup. But make sure you manually cancel so they don’t auto charge you. That is what ESPN is banking on with this. It’s a sneaky tactic and pisses me off.

Not worth buying too many blackout restrictions.
-
VPN. I don’t pay for my MLB.TV but I can’t watch the Pirates on there due to our nation’s archaic regional blackout laws, so I get a vpn and watch every game I can.
-
Counterpoint.
I live 8 hours from my closest MLB team (and if course MLB says that's my local market, lol). I am able to watch a LOT of baseball via MLB.TV.
I do hate it when games are on AppleTV though. C'mon, I'm paying to stream, don't try to make me but another subscription.

Yes, I’ve had it for years and this year I got it through ESPN/Disney for $10 less. I’m a Dodgers fan in New Hampshire and I watch every night or listen to the audio feed on my phone through the At Bat app but it looks like this year, the audio feed is only available through something called MLB+ for $59.99 annually. I guess I could just listen to the TV broadcast but I’m old school and like the Dodgers radio broadcast. Of course, Vin is in Baseball Heaven but I still like to listen to Rick Monday so I’ll probably spring for it but it was a nice feature to have integrated in the subscription.

I’ve been getting MLB.TV every year all the way back when it was MLB Extra Innings. For the last few years I’ve been getting it from T-Mobile, I think that contract expires after the 28 season, but who knows now that ESPN/Disney purchased it.

@MarioMendoza935_XBL buy yourself a vseebox. Costs about 200-300 but never pay a monthly bill.
-
@Rsalermo82_PSN Also got the same thing, and I say its extremely worth it.
-
I don’t understand what a vseebox is? What apps are free on it and what apps do you have to pay a subscription fee for?

You dont need any apps. Its almost like IPTV.
You buy a box, Walmart.com has them, and you just hook it up to your TV and wifi.
You get any channel you want as well as PPVS and movies.
Only issue is that you need a separate box, for each tv, if you have a tv in multiple rooms. IE Living room, your bedroom, kids bedroom, etc.
-
@Ryan92780_PSN its a jail broken cable box basically. Has every channel you can imagine, also has all streaming services and pay per view.
-
@Rsalermo82_PSN It also comes with a $250,000 fine and 10 year prison term if detected on your network. Many internet providers are scanning for them regularly.
-
@Tandil1368_XBL Is this true? Then why would they be selling them if internet providers will try their time all in the world to help others companies not have their stocks hurt?
-
@Tandil1368_XBL never heard of this happening. Also, box has vpn.
-
It is true yes and a VPN will not help you. They can detect the MAC address of the device on network before it even connects outward bound. Mac addresses are like Social Security numbers, the first three digits of a Social Security number reflect the state in which you were born. MAC address numbers work the same way, each company has their own assigned code.

@Tandil1368_XBL
I’ll look into that thank you. I’ve had mine for two years and never had a problem just sick of these cable companies ripping us off. -
@Rsalermo82_PSN You and me both. I’m so tired of all these stupid subscriptions. They nickel and dime us with everything, now you have 3 other subscriptions in order to watch all your games live and as a subscriber of MLB.TV that ticks me off. This year we have to deal with Amazon, Apple TV, and Fox. You can wait until 3 hours after game ends but is a pain.
