Apparently, a Texas Rangers player hit a homerun that was 505 feet. But it was not though, because you can clearly see the homerun looking like 440 feet when it lands and the ball hits the upper deck and it just so happened to bounce so high onto the end of the seats in the upper deck. Idk but when I look a the footage, it doesn't look right to me that it was measured at 505 feet.

It's not measured, it's projected distance. In the game and statcast in real life doesn't actually measure home runs, they calculate the distance it would travel (angle and speed and a few others)and the distance isn't where it lands but where it would land if it doesn't hit anything

@PAinPA_PSN That would make sense, for foul pole homeruns but I can also see people being able to break records cuz of this.

What point are you trying to make? Projected distance has been the reported yard stick of real world and the video game homers for decades. The math isn't difficult and the projected distances reported in current days are quite accurate.

Even if we didn't, we could've used context clues and came up with that number it's quite obvious.

@painpa_psn @thebigpapa55_psn @priorfir4383355_xbl No seas asi guys. Anyways ugh you guys win and I think I was acting rude with the reasoning of the homerun distance, and here's a fly ball by Castellanos and that will be a homerun.
