The two that immediately pop into my head without cheating would be Kurtz and Wilson from the A's? Maybe that pitcher from LA who got all of the postseason cards? (I forgot his name)

My Program Came up with 13 players whose overall jumped at least 20 points.

Without giving them all away I will drop a hint and say I was surprised to see a Cardinal on the list (I doubt anyone guesses him without research)

    @savefarris_psn Shay Whitcomb???????? 😕

Even as a Cardinal fan I forgot about him.

    I have 14...

    A.J. Blubaugh
    Justin Sterner
    Nick Kurtz
    Trey Yesavage
    Caleb Durbin
    Chad Patrick
    Matt Svanson
    Brad Keller
    Justin Wrobleski
    Trevor Rogers
    Ian Seymour
    Ryan Bergert
    Shane Smith
    Cam Schlittler

My sheet shows from their lowest point to their highest - not sure if that makes a difference.

Also, I'm noticing an error in my logic... let me see if I can fix this.

The only one I did not have is Ian Seymour who I show at +14

Here is his roster update page.
    https://mlb25.theshow.com/roster_updates/search?q=Ian+Seymour

From that view it looks like he started the year as a 63 SP
He was switched to a RP which took his overall down to 56
He was switched back to SP which jumped him back to 62
He Switched back to a RP again and his overall went back to 56
On Sept 12 he went back to a SP role and was bumped to 77
    He ended at a 75

@dolenz_psn - so, I'm looking at the "Roster Update" file. @savefarris_psn shows Fedde as going down by 14, which is correct (started as a 77, ended as a 63.

When I look at the total of the net changes, there's one change that was made when he switched from the Braves to the Brewers. He was at a 69, but when he moved over to the Brewers, he started as a 63. There's no record of a "minus 6" anywhere. So when I add up all the overall ranking changes, I get minus 8. Add that to the missing minus 6 and you get the overall minus 14 that @savefarris_psn has.

Weird. Maybe I'm looking at this wrong...

Thank you for this. If you look at his last two updates (October 3 and 10), they look duplicated. Both start at 77 and end at 75 (each has a minus 2).

And... if you look at May 2, he ends as a 62. If you look at his next change on June 27, he magically starts as a 56. There's no "minus 6" anywhere in the database as far as I can see.

I think that's where my math falls apart in my download from the API.

@MarioMendoza935_XBL Position Changes can affect the overall without any corresponding upgrades or downgrades.

Fedde was a SP for STL
When he switched to ATL he was made a RP which knocked him down to a 63. The relievers apparently have different weightings for the attributes. The attributes actually did not change.

Here is a separate report I have which is the most Volatile players. These are the players who cumulatively had the most movement.

For Example if someone was an 80, then fell to a 75 and then was bumped back to 80 then that counts as a 10 point cumulative difference.

I'm not saying my program is flawless though - upgrades and downgrades are kind of weird.

(sorry for the graphic - you may need to click on it to actually read it)

Got it! Thanks for this. Still wish there was a record to indicate that there was a change in "overall". In 2026, I'll just download the full "Items - MLB Cards" every day 😀

Yeah, it is strange that the roster update page mentions the position change but not the associated OVR change. Although, I guess I can kind of understand it because none of their attributes actually were updated.

    Here is a good Example

Travis Adams - His position changed on every update except the last 2 in Oct. He got 20 overall points of movement simply from his position changes through Aug.

I do find it strange that they would not adjust his Stamina on the switches back and forth between RP and SP
