I loved playing Tony Larussa baseball on my old 286 (top of the line), and setting and managing the all-time greatest line-ups. But i am older than most of you. I can barely remember being 42!

Man, ya'll are young. I've been playing since Atari Home Run came out. I'd prefer to see expansion and development of franchise mode again then anything else. Sure graphics are nice, but there are already pretty good.

Hardball III and Nolan Ryan's Baseball here EDIT - oh yeah, Roger Clemens MVP Baseball & Cal Ripken Baseball too. So many choices back in the '90s.

Hardball was fantastic for the depth of stats it had. One underrated game that played exceptionally well for the time was VR Baseball. I never see people talk about it. That was what the game people want today. Visuals were real good, but the game play felt real authentic and playable too.

@bostondirtdog21_PSN - Man, I don't know if that would ever have come back to mind had you not said it, but I remember really enjoying it, and thinking that VR Baseball was a much better game than its competitors. And then it was gone.

    Good memory. Thank you.

I'm waiting for someone to say they're played Strat-O-Matic!
I saw it as a youngster, but felt it was weird playing ball as a board game.
I've always been a stat geek, in fact I have many 'subject' notebooks of me writing down stats for all 162 games of seasons of Triple Play Baseball in '97 & '98. I would do Indians seasons first, because my Mets weren't good, then a Mets season. One time, my Mets season file corrupted on game 161! I was crestfallen.
I guess i wrote the stats mainly to record my created player first. I can write really small, so it was mainly abbreviated stats of each game on each line in the notebook for every game + playoffs.

I did! They eventually made a digital version, but we had the card version and would get the new cards each year. My brother was especially into it.

We also input the stats for a fantasy baseball league using USA today

I started playing with my grandfather back in the 70's. He had a 1968 version of the game, and I was introduced to some great player cards. I played a lot in the late 70's early 80's with my Pirates (who were actually great).

When I tore my Achilles last spring, I actually ordered the 2018 card version and played with the Red Sox. It's a great game.

@Easy_Duhz_It__PSN why ? If its optional? I don't mind creativity as long as its optional.

The thing is, if its in DD, its not "optional". Yes, you have the option to play it or not...but stuff like that generally comes with cards attached. In 23, they had a Kaiiju mini seasons and a Kaiju program, both with multiple cards. They're not really giving you an option if you wanna do collections or if you want the shiny new toy to play with.
