I have gone back and played a lot of online from 21-24 and as far as game play goes, 23 and 24 are the best. 22 comes in at third and 21/25 trail significantly. I find myself having way more fun playing the older games online. It should not be that way. Go back and play them if you haven’t and see what has changed for the better and for the worse.

Went back and played a few 24 games online. Didn’t really notice a difference. Graphics are better with 25 if you have latest cables etc. I sit in the upper 600 lower 700 range as a player. Scored 4 runs in a 9 inning game and 5 in the other. Played at shippett and not shield woods. That is usually what I average right now in a typical 25 game not played at coors. At coors add 3/4 runs to that. The difference in 25 I notice is the sliders that are in place in the late inning especially the 9th. Opponents can struggle all game but you know they are taking you deep in the 9th or getting a lucky hit on a ball out of the zone. Seems SDS made a conscious effort this year to move the game sliders in late innings. It leads to some epic wins and loses for you.

Have to agree with the OP, here. Content stunk and gameplay may have been worse than MLB 1998.

My opinion is that anything is better than Sets and Seasons over the two prior years.. Nothing is worse that earning a card that expires or can only be used for a certain amount of time. (Yes, I get they created wild card spots, but it was still silly)

That being said, I do agree with the Original Poster. The content was there, but it felt like there was really never anything to do all year. There was so much of a push to ranked seasons and Weekend Classic, that everything else was abandoned. The move towards a one size fits all multiplayer program was the nail in the coffin for Events and BR too. There was no real point to play anything except for RS this year.. It made everything else pointless, and in doing that, took away the drive and motivation to play the game. Also Diamond Quest, which I enjoyed in the beginning, doesn't have the same appeal as mini seasons or Conquest. It was way more difficult to play multiple versions of Diamond Quest, especially when rewards really were not guaranteed. It just seems that there needs to be more of a focus on long-term play and trying to find new modes for multiplayer... This year felt like they actually regressed in that department.

    In Closing

    Events were pointless
BR was pointless (unless you are really good at the game)
    Diamond Quest was too redundant
Coop is fun, but still needs something
    New Modes for multiplayer
TA was really weak this year
Give the people something to try and achieve
I know this sounds crazy, but let people carry over something to the next game, even if it's minimal (can parallel one live series player to P3 on day one if you complete this mission)
