Blizzard Captains 3 Incoming...

The Asian Born captain is a cool captain card. I don’t know the attributes it boosts. I am glad it was not a Dodger; only because they are likely to continue to get many of the star players that come from Asia; due to the Ohtani contract structure, which gives them more money to spend on foreign acquisitions, and they do seem to attract players who have played on Japan’s last WBC team.
-
I’ll say it every time there needs to be a new filters for these when they are put into the game

@TheBigPapa55_PSN amen

HR’d with ‘25 PS (from NLCS) Ohtani and didnt count for Asian XBHs - is it because he’s an SP (two-way’d at DH)? Also got one for HR with ‘25 Josh Naylor (ALCS) and it counted for that and Short King HRs - did he play for an Asian team?
-
The missions seem to be incorrect. Hits, XBHs and HRs all accumulated with the short kings for me.

@dbrooks1869_XBL me too. LOL. But hey its done

I did have an Asian XBH count with Seiya Suzuki but yeah the Shot Kings were also counting for Asians.

It seems pretty broken and difficult to tell who counts and who does not... maybe a port from last year? Ozzie Smith is 5'11 on the card, but they specifically say you can use him as a short king.. Tommy Edman says he was born in California, but still counts for Asian born players... Just seems like a coin toss. This is similar to the last Captain with Cool Papa Bell not counting as an Old Timer..

Yeah, I have no clue how they do these. It has to be flagged somehow manually in the game but there is no fields that I can see to do that.
Tommy Edman played for South Korea in the last WBC since his mother is from South Korea. Nootbaar played for Japan because his mother is from there.

Check the Captain section of the cap’s player card - Short Kings are 5’10 or vv, Asians are born in Asia or played for a Asian national team (and Edman/Nootbar are specifically mentioned).

For some it is easy and can be handled by by the fields on the cards. My app can even list the eligible players for Captains like Pendleton or Newhouser.
But Captains based on stats or conditions like Imanaga are not so easily done. For example I am guessing that there is no field stating that Nootbaar played for Japan in the WBC two years ago. He was probably manually flagged somehow. World Series MVPs are not some field that can be checked against. They would also probably need to be manually tagged.
Maybe they have a table or fields that I don't see in the API data. I can do these two but unless I manually put a list of all players with 45 saves, for example, into my app there is no easy way to get a list of players for Gagne's boost.
