My All-Time Team Lineups in MLB The Show 25

If anybody here watches Koogs46, you'll know what I'm talking about. If not, then here's what this is: a little after all the Finest content drops, I take the best players from a given franchise and build a DD team revolving around that given team and use that team in Ranked. I did this for the first time last year, and I'm happy to say I'm doing it again this year. I usually start with the WS champion, which is the Dodgers for the second year in a row, the runner-up, which is the Blue Jays, and my favorite team which is the New York Mets. Then I just go by which team I have the most cards of. Anyway here's my Dodgers team:

Here is what my program came up with for the best all around Dodgers team
It does not take into account Captain boosts but it does have Andy Pages and Blake Treinen for their boosts.
It also only takes into account cards that are for the team in question which is why no Corey Seager

Yeah, this would be more of a Dodgers "theme team" rather than an "all-time" team.True. I have always been that way though. I won't use Colorado's Arenado (or Holliday) or Oaklands McGwire on a Cardinals squad. I have some tunnel vision in that regard.
I did think about trying to add a players multiple teams to their cards for this purpose (all-time teams) but it seemed like more hassle than it was worth.
Also blame SDS for not giving Duke Snider a better card (Yet???)
Personally I would probably hold off until next Tuesday to see if any Retro cards fit the Bill. Not only does Snider need a better card. So does Fernando Valenzuela

Welp, I played my first game with LA on the road. 12-4 win (6th inning rage quit), here’s how it went:
Jackie hit 3 homers that game
DUKE SNIDER WENT 450!!!
Piazza went yard for a two-run
Kershaw pitched 6 innings (he quit after he hit in the sixth), gave up 4 bombs but only 5 hits with a bunch of K’s
Seager hit an RBI double
I will be constructing the Blue Jays soon -

I got you, I’m doing the Mets right after Toronto since they’re my favorite team, but I think I’ll do Seattle right afterwards.
Edit: Toronto’s bullpen is usually terrible but it took an even greater with hit with the loss of Tom Henke, who I loved to use the last two years. Louis Varland pitched in all seven WS games and I think set the record for the most playoff appearances in a single postseason. He didn’t get a card. Yes, good job, SDS.
Edit: I did all-time teams last year - only the 2024 All-Time Guardians had a worse bullpen than this monstrosity. SOMEONE PLEASE GIVE LIAM AND LOUIS A GOOD CARD! -

Or a Chris Bassitt relief pitcher card. Anything to improve that bullpen. Your rendition is only bolstered by the fact you are using one tine blue jays like Chavez or Hendricks otherwise it is really bad with only Hoffman and live series options (I think Hoffman may be the best three options!!)

These are the only cards that have played for Toronto that are in the game, sadly (oh wait, I forgot 97 Brock Stewart, welp that’s all for Louis). -
So here’s what happened:
Won my first game on a freeze-off rage quit in the first inning of my first game although I was down 1-0
Second game: 5-0 rage quit win:
Alejandro Kirk and George Springer went back-to-back
Vlad Jr. hit the 3 run homer that forced the rage quit in the fifth
Clemens threw 5 scoreless innings

I ended up winning two games with this team and lost 3. Seaver pitched both of them. 11 k’s in the first, was dominant in the second. I won 2-1 in the first win and 5-4 in ten at home in the second win. Piazza hit a two-run double in the first game, and Alonso, Nimmo, and Beltran all homered. I hit a walk-off single with Carlos Delgado in the tenth off Josh Hader.
From this point on I just choose teams randomly based on my card inventory. So, given that I information, I think I’ll do the Angels next, especially with the new Taylor Ward and Lee Smith. -

Did you see the post in the Improvements for ’26 conversation? Someone suggested allowing any player who ever played for a team be boosted by a team’s captain. So Rockies Arenado and A’s McGwire could be boosted by Cardinals captains. Interested in your thoughts. PXP would go to the team associated with the card, though, I guess. -

Obviously as someone this year who could not use 99 McGwire, 99 Goldschmidt, 99 Arenado, 99 Holliday, 99 Lee Smith (You could also add 99 Beltran, 99 Berkman and 99 Edman) and probably a few I am forgetting it would sure add variety to the team.
