Why is hitting online so hard now?
-
I am actually believing that they increased the difficulty offline too. You have cpu pitchers on rookie and veteran on play it back mini seasons painting corners and also pitchers that can't find the zone.
-
I guess you have to counter the 99 onslaught somehow.
The last time I played the '3' repeatable Conquest map, I noticed something was different, although offline. -

The last time I played the '3' repeatable Conquest map, I noticed something was different, although offline.Conquest has been strange for me too. One playing session I'm hitting into an ungodly amount of perfect-perfect outs. The next playing session (could be 12-24 hours later) I'll score 20+ runs even though I'm impatiently grinding (rushing to get done) and taking lots of bad swings...still getting rewarded. I don't know if it's the game or there's something that I'm doing/neglecting visually/mentally that causes it

Offline has been like that a year. I have lost probably 5x as many games this year as last year and I play on a lower difficulty this year. And yes some games Ill lose 1-0 in the 6th followed by 9 runs the next. Some games they just induce bad contact and force you to swing at low double play balls while other games they throw meatballs.

Online seems like the hitting windows are getting less and less consistent. Maybe a result from SDS not leasing as many serves this late into the season? It’s bee painful recently..

I just faced John Don and I felt like my timing was fine on both fork and slider and alot of the forks I wasn't evwn fouling off

The timing window is inconsistent, you can have a several games where you are good to perfect timing and others(unfortunately more games than not) were I feel as no matter what I do I am swinging early at everything or late at everything. If the swing timing is going to be bad at least make it consistently bad from game to game so we as players will know what to expect.
Wirh that being said,I do believe what @TheGoaler_PSN said, it has something to do with all the juiced 99's flooding the game. That's when things really went off the rails.

Ok we noticed this last night in some coop games...we were so late on some FB that we may as well have been waiting until tomorrow to swing...but it felt like we were on time...weird.

100% of my weekend classic games were away
All games on all star
All fastballs felt 100000mph

Well before you had lower tiered pitchers....hitting is the same, just better pitchers.
-
Yeah it's crazy that hitting is harder when everyone is using 99 overall pitchers. I wonder why?

Yeah, I don't know if it is the case or not, but theoretically a 99 hitter should have just as much success against a 99 pitcher as an 85 hitter would have against an 85 pitcher.
-
Yeah i've moved on to RTTS. Player base is better overall now and the pitching is insane. I'm just not good enough to play online at this point in the game. Spending 45 minutes in a game getting 2 hits and striking out 10 times just isn't a fun or productive use of my time. Had a blast in ranked this year but I think i'm just going to stick to offline stuff until 26.

The 99 overall pitchers most people will use have outlier, break outlier, high break, usually 100+ hits and K's per 9. That's what's making it tougher to hit. If youre squaring everything up you'll be fine most of the time, regardless if its 85 vs 85 or 99 vs 99.
Most people will come here complaining that they manipulated the sliders without telling us, screwed with the timing windows, blah blah blah. It's ok to say that you're having a tougher time hitting because its harder to decipher 99 overall Randy Johnsons fastball from his splitter than it was 85 Chase Burns fastball from his circle change. But some just cant do that.

I get that, that's not the issue I brought up, it's the corner painting and good timed ground outs and line outs in the play it back mini seasons with 65 or lower cpu pitchers. I get the whole online pitching, which the player needs to just adjust to the juiced up pitchers. But the offline mini season... a little suspect.
-
@allday9128_PSN Well, that's because they do adjust the sliders without telling people. For those who play offline, we notice that our new 99's don't do significantly better (if at all) then our 88's did against the original live series players in conquest/9 innings games/minis. It's simple to check, just go to your player stats and see if your 85 babe ruth did significantly better than your 99. I bet you won't see much of a difference. Are you scoring more per game than your were way back? Probably not.
So, that would mean either the stats on the card are just useless or they adjusted the sliders of the lower live series used by the computer thus making our grinding and purchasing the higher cards useless other than for aesthetics.
It's similar to other games now (ESO, Destiny, etc.) where all the enemies now level up with you with your armor level.

I think SDS didn't want to give up the multi-player Chase packs so they made it more difficult. I just finished the multi-player at 5pm E.S.T. . I had to get my Chase pack. I'll open it tomorrow, and cross my fingers. Oh yeah, I finally finished the NEON Collection too.
