Wrong manager in RTTS

I was playing as a shortstop for the Padres and when I got called up, the manager was some random guy instead of Mike Shildt. What is super odd is Shildt is still on the team as a 1st base coach. Why would the game take the real world manager and move him to a base coach and have you interact with a fake guy instead? Sometimes I have to wonder what the devs of this game are thinking. The attention to detail when it comes to realism is sorely lacking in too many areas.
