@yankblan_PSN I would love to see a separate themed ranked where you have to use a full theme team, but I have zero faith in their ability to distribute cards evenly enough to make it work, so we’d just see everyone using a handful of the best teams.
-
@GoozeFn_PSN ok fine can they at least fix the connection issues, or turn down the pitching sliders a little. So i can stop seeing a 120mph fast balls that are impossible to catch up to. How about that? Ill take that. Oh and the pci shrinkage to same side hitters.
-
@creeder21_MLBTS spot on
-
@Ditka06_MLBTS I have never disagreed about connection issues. The best thing they could do is dedicated servers which people have been asking for years.
-
@GoozeFn_PSN in such a fast paced game like baseball when every pitcher throws 101 mph..they absolutely need dedicated servers. This game is just way to fast to not have the best connections.

Making it seem like fast balls warp in at a 120 mph and every swing is late.
This drives me nuts online...I have zero issues hitting Allstar or even Legend offline, but I'm ALWAYS late on FB in ranked. Now it's partially because basically every single pitcher has an outlier fastball, even a good portion of the guys that never sniffed 100 in their entire careers.
-
@Sarge1387_PSN the outlier fast balls on every pitcher does not help. But its not the reason we are late all the time on most of our swings. Thats the connections for sure. Or like ive been saying they turned up pitching sliders online. I can literally hit the swing button as the pitcher is releasing the ball and still be late!!! Thats a f... problem! And what is also driving me insane.

That's an intriguing statement you just made. I don't play online at all, so I cannot verify what you are saying, so I need to inquire to be sure I understand. You say you are swinging late even if you press the hit command on your controller as the pitcher releases the ball, which of course is way earlier than any real world hitter would commit to swing, nor frankly needs to, even with a 105mph four seamer that right now is the tops measured in a real world game.
Is the swing delaying due to the delay between game controller input and start of the swing, or is the delay due to the delays in the command synching up with the online presentation of the game? That's a subtle difference that may be hard to determine, but if it can be nailed down, then it goes to the heart of the cause.
-
@PriorFir4383355_XBL it’s latency, mostly. Not much can be done. I don’t have the answer to that, but removing outliers will make games batting practice and strike outs near impossible.
-
I would like to see a change back to giving it to players who actually threw over 100.
-
@PriorFir4383355_XBL I kid you not. Especially on inside fast balls or sinkers. I have to swing as soon as I see the ball leave the pitchers hand! On all star! I have to literally guess where the pitch is going to hit it. I see it leave the pitchers hand and its instantly across the plate most games. Online game is basically unplayable for me. I beat my head against a wall almost every game. Ive been playing this game for 4 years straight. And all of a sudden I cant hit an inside fast ball to save my life with same side batters. Maybe they knew something was up? Why did they give us so many switch hitters this year to start. The game plays to fast and is too [censored] hard to have game play and server issues.
-
@Ditka06_MLBTS Do you play on a TV or monitor and what is your upload download rates?
-
@GoozeFn_PSN I play on a monitor. 144hz monitor 1ms. When I check my upload speeds in the xbox settings they are usually over 600. Is there a way to check the monitor speeds? Im also finding lately my pci does not move sometimes when I feel like im clearly moving it and the timing/pci indicator after the swing shows the pci in the middle on my swings didnt move at all. I have a power A wired controller. And ive tested the analog sticks and it works great on the tests.
-
@Ditka06_MLBTS Tbh I think you should be rewarded for good pitching and that’s something I’d like to see continue in the future. I’m sorry but if I’m very clearly better than a player and then I get a ball put in the seats that a guy was late and the ball a foot out of the zone then why even pitch. Just put pitching machines on the mound and mark where you throw it bc it apparently doesn’t matter. I’m good on that.
-
@Talkingben9558_XBL I agree. No PCI tampering.
-
@Ditka06_MLBTS Very strange. Your setup seems every bit as good as mine and I do not experience that ever. Is your internet wired?

I don’t have an issue catching up to outlier fastballs, for the most part. Also play on a monitor, wired internet. Etc. I really don’t have a problem with hitting in general. I’m probably a better pitcher than I am a hitter to be honest, but I’m pretty decent all around. Better than average for sure. So I find it to be strange what Ditka06 is saying here too.
If that was my experience, I would be beyond frustrated if I finally squared up a ball and it did nothing. This year, IMHO, pitchers have been WAY better than hitters up until this point which probably exacerbates not having high elevation stadiums and whatever happened to the RNG this year.
-
@creeder21_MLBTS I find it hard to believe someone who has made World Series is experiencing that.
-
@GoozeFn_PSN yes wired fiber 2 gigs. I know its very strange. It may just be mlb the shows servers in my geographical location. I dont know. But years prior on a regular TV I never had these issues. Im very frustrated. I promise im a level headed guy. Not making this stuff up. I also made ws. Yes. But off the back of my pitching not hitting.

@YOSHI24_XBL and we can disagree, BUT why do you think people played there? Do you think maybe people enjoyed it?
Yes, agree on that
I am pretty sure people enjoyed it and starting from me I am pretty sure there were ppl who thought those stadiums were a disgrace to this beautiful baseball game. And I am pretty sure, SDS thought it was a little to much slugfest, because they nerfed exit Velo … to make the game play … different. Imo it was a change for the better
@creeder21_MLBTS said in Let’s be honest:
@YOSHI24_XBL last year was not slugfest. IMHO, this game has typically been incredible about balancing good to “perfect” user input and rewarding it. This year, not so much. It had a really excellent balance between sim and arcade, but it has been pushed more towards sim. I like the middle, in what I like to call baseball video game. Not cartoonish arcade or total baseball sim, but just an enjoyable video game where the user gets rewarded for their input.
I do not want to get into that too much bc we disagree heavily in nearly every sentence … But … last sentence. Input is more than hitting the ball. The game was not rewarding, bc it drained from my pitching input giving away 80 mph HR on a routine basis. This is not what rewarding means (at least in my view).
And it was a cartoon and it changed for the better (if you regard the game as a reflection of MLB)
