Pitchers not getting strikeouts while fielding

If I field 'All Plays' as SS in RTTS, I've noticed that my team's pitchers NEVER get swinging strikeouts, and maybe a total of 3 strikeouts looking per game. I'm 16 games into the season and my team pitching has 57 strikeouts vs. 71 walks, and that includes a few games where I was only fielding My Plays and the strikeout totals were more normal. For reference the next lowest team strikeout total in the league is double that amount. Not sure if they thought players wouldn't want to have to watch strikeouts (though the walks seem like a pretty standard rate), or if something in the sim logic is just broken.
