    Your sarcasm is well earned, sir! Nope, Stadium Creator wasn't even mentioned in Update #19, and so I seriously doubt they would have snuck anything in.

    I repeat, the only things we are going to see done with SC is to repair the corrupted vault function and then a second action to take away something that would make the paying customers happy, because customer happiness just isn't as important to SDS as is total control!

    It's kind of like that line in Bull Durham, "Strikeouts are fascist. Throw grounders -- they are more democratic!" SDS likes strikeouts, even when they are at bat and a softball is thrown their way to hit out of the park. They struck out, and seem quite happy with their unproductive plate appearance!

    another ball dropped on SDS part...again. Love that we were strung along as if something was actually happening...which I'm sure will be walked back. Instead of leading creators on...maybe just tell us up front that nothing was being done or was ever planned to be done...that at least would have been the respectable thing to do

    The actions taken confirm that there was never anything planned for upgrade to SC (or uniforms or logos). Instead, two things that were never planned were done: 1. Fix a horribly bugged up vault ... 2. "Fix" something that only in SDS's view was a bug, but was in reality something the customers have wanted for five years and suddenly had available to them.

    That second item got fixed in the sledgehammer manner that SDS chose, vice the one elegant method that we actually communicated to them in private just so nefarious people couldn't leverage the option to do bad things with it.

    To prevent bad use is the reason SDS offered, except the method they chose has NOT prevented the nefarious use -- not one iota! The trust between the community and SDS has now been so totally destroyed, that I'm not even willing to communicate how the option is still there for nefarious use, because I don't trust SDS to make positive use of the information.

    You are entirely correct about your other point. It would have been vastly better for SDS to communicate that they have no desire -- not plans -- but no desire to upgrade these customer custom development modes -- Stadium Creator, Custom Uniforms, and Custom Logos. But, they won't do that either. They think stringing along via words still works. It does work in a way -- it destroys customer satisfaction, trust, and confidence.

    @SDS_JoeK_PSN

    OK, Joe, lay it on the line for us. SDS leadership bungled the moving wall opportunity and despite that SDS hasn't even seen fit to add a single new prop to the game mode -- nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing!

    This is the first year since SDS first released Stadium Creator that absolutely nothing has been done to improve the game mode, and in the past good efforts were praised even as frustration was expressed by how much the community desired that was never done.

    This year, the frustration has boiled over to a level never before seen. Is SDS happy with that? The lack of effort, action, and good feedback clearly shows that if they are not happy, they certainly aren't concerned. And that reaction may be worse than being happy about it.

    You know, folks like Sarge, JoeSelser, and myself represent the handful left of who used to be dozens of stadium designers who were active here. Go back in time and verify that yourself if you doubt it. But, there is one other point that I want you to appreciate in your role.

    We three chose to try to cooperate with SDS, to work privately with you to alert you to a potential to hurt the game experience for potentially thousands of customers, so that you could take the time needed to prevent that harm. In return, all we asked for was to retain the ability to move the baseline and backstop wall panels like we've wanted to do for years now.

    It was very little to ask for, and the roadmap was right there for all to take.

    Not only was that roadmap rejected, but the way that SDS chose to go did NOT prevent evil people from causing the very harm we were concerned about. Now, because of how this went down, you've not only destroyed our trust and faith, but worse you have left yourselves as company wide open to a potential abuse of the game that could well cause an avalanche of thousands of very angry customers in Diamond Dynasty -- something that none of us here want to see happen.

    Now, we aren't going to help the malicious minded, not at all. That's not how the three of us here think and do. But, sadly it's only a matter of time. SDS, do the right thing and do it now! Extend the code to render stadiums with moved outfield wall panels to apply to the move of any of the wall panels (outfield, baseline, and backstop) AND extend your default (online use approved) preset wall dimensions to include SDS's choice of baseline and backstop wall panel configurations. Keep the jewel box design for all we care. But, you could earn so much goodwill if you expanded the options to include other possibilities.

    Any move of any wall panel away from those preset configurations, and the stadium is rendered ineligible for online use. That's the ticket, Joe, the one we privately communicated to you to pass along two months ago. That ticket is still sitting there unused, and the time bomb is ticking away that the longer this goes with SDS thinking falsely they solved the problem their own way, the more likely it becomes that SDS is going to learn the hard way that they should have listened -- I mean truly listened -- to us two months ago, and traded these two steps for letting up keep the option to move any and all of the wall panels.

    @PriorFir4383355_XBL

    Agreed. Look, we tried...I even suggested that if SDS wants some good PR, AND good feedback, do a round table Zoom/teams call with a few of the creators, like you did a couple years back with streamers for DD.

    Only thing about Prior's suggestions I would change is lose the "hard and strict" wall requirements. I'm a big supporter of the fences being any distance, provided they conform to certain standards for online play. For example, nothing shorter than 314 feet down the lines, and nothing shorter than 390 to center, with fences no shorter than 6 feet tall. Anything less than those and then it makes them ineligible. There's gotta be some wiggle room for proper creativity.

    As far as foul territory goes, give us a tapered layout like Angel Stadium or Kauffman with bullpens off the field and call it a day. Anything would be an upgrade over the jewelbox design.

    The seating props need to be re-worked so that they actually fit the backstop. OR, and this is one we've been suggesting for a long time- the trim logic that applies to sinking the stands into the ground, needs to be applied to the wall. Make the wall a hard-point on seats the way the ground is.

    Can we also fix the fence window issue please?

    The overmodelling of the batter's eyes really makes for some awkward empty space...for example this is my most recent creation:

    alt text

    alt text

    Notice I used the Philly eye, notice the weird unusable space? That needs to be dealt with. We can only mask this space so much. The WhiteSox eye, this one, the Twins eye, and even some of non IRL eyes, like the blue with brick and green hill...they're modelled as boxes and you can't do anything with the ugly empty space, you can't snug the seats or anything up to it. It shouldn't be that hard to properly model this stuff. This goes for any of the fences that have weird angles...visually it moves but it creates invisible over-modelled unusable zones

    For the record, if I had any expectation that SDS would actually do something challenging, I would urge them to redo the code entirely within SC so that the walls would act as a pinpoint no-go barrier, where props could not penetrate beyond. In that way, there would be an ironclad method to ensure online custom stadiums could not be used to abuse the gameplay.

    I actually endorse what Sarge is writing about preserving stadiums for online play with modified walls. I just don't expect SDS to work the more challenging requirement to ensure it isn't abused. However, this could be done, and frankly should be done.

    In the same way, it should have been fixed years ago the poor coding that falsely flags props for intruding into the field of play when they are not, as well as fix the issue Sarge again raised where batters eyes are given ridiculously expanded avoidance areas extending far past their actual 3D coded dimensions.
