To add to the seemingly increased arcade nature of this game, I'm seeing in virtually every game played latley the CPU pitchers taking a 100+ EV line drive off the shin and making the play to throw you out without missing a beat. That's some tough mofos....
Half dozen amazing diving catches per game
A wild pitch per game
Cannon arms from the warning track
Jedi reflexes in the infield.....and now shins of steel

Yeah the CPU gameplay on the whole is head scratching.
