Timing Hitting Issues 25?
-
Re: Timing I traditionally just use timing hitting and the flick stick over the years and have been pretty good at it. This year (The Show 25) I can’t make any contact. But the timing window keeps saying my timing is good and in the green… and I’m swinging right through pitches and at best fowling the pitch off. Am I missing something other than just the ball? It’s making me want to stop playing the [censored] game.

You aren’t missing anything. They have made hitting fundamentally harder this year. I’ve noticed swinging right thru multiple pitches using directional and timing during moments. I generally prefer zone anyway but they have made the other options basically unusable at this point.

I fired up the game last night played two conquest games on Veteran and then turned the game off because both games went to extra innings tied 0-0. Not fun for me.
I only managed 1 perfect/perfect which was a 114 mph ground out. I know most perfect perfects are actually hits but only having 1 in two games was annoying to me. I mean I used to, once in awhile, go into extras in Conquest games but I think I have set a record this year already.
It seems like even if the ball is in the PCI but you are even slightly under it that the launch angles are extremely high and the exit velocities are low. It just seems like they have narrowed the sweet spot of the PCI while keeping the PCI the same size. At least that is my take.
I have been playing on Veteran for a decade or more now but this year it seems less rewarding.

I changed to using Zone it's changed my life with hitting, I definitely hit better now than when I used timing

For sure it is. Often if you just miss the ball goes nowhere.

@Gold-Diggity_PSN It is definitely not you. I am a directional hitter myself and I swing right thru pitches right down the middle with good timing.
@Dolenz_PSN I played last night for a bit as well. I “swear” they nerfed exit velocities during my session. Lots and lots of 80-89 mph velos led to easy fly ball outs.

Hitting is harder in general this year. This the first year where there is no pattern to where the pitches will go on Beginner or Amateur.
