Agree. There should be cards that are hard to obtain. Whether it take skill, stubs, or collecting tons of other cards, I’m totally fine with having top cards be harder to obtain
What I’m not fine with, is releasing obviously nerfed cards that can be obtained for free, while simultaneously placing better cards within a pack
They continue to nerf cards by inflating meaningless attributes like durability, and base running aggressiveness so that they can make that card “mediocre” in an area. Cbrev literally hinted at this today on stream. He said there’s “give and take” when creating the attributes
And then today, they release Willi in a chase pack where his durability, stealing and baserunning aggressiveness is all low so that they could stack contact, power, vision and clutch. And they place tht card in a pack
Disappointing

I’m 2 cards away from all the 99s. Sandberg and Ohtani. Really only 1. lol I get ohtani I get Chase H completing 2nd half hero’s.

Has anyone even pulled a chase pack within a pack this year? I have not and I have pulled a lot of packs. So if you cant pull a chase pack outside of buying a bundle. And then the chase pack does not guarantee the chase card, supply is going to be non existent.
Yes, I think I have pulled at least 3, maybe 4.

@doobiebross66-72_PSN Yeah I watched a good youtube on this the other day. Basically durability means nothing DD but helps inflate the overall of the card. Same in previous years with defense and reaction, at least they changed that so those stats matter in game. In other words overall means nothing just look at attributes.

Pretty sure Beltran and Rolen aren’t in packs.

It’s not egregious for a company beholden to Sony to find ways to make money. That’s how capitalism works.

True. SDS has to make a profit. I get that. But pair content drops like this with at least 1 juicy “free-to-grind/earn” card along with a juicy card that is behind a pack
There can be a balance. They’ve obviously shifted that balance towards better cards in packs
Ultimately, I still enjoy the game. I’ll still play. Just disappointing how content drops are so far this year

C'mon seriously? I really don't understand why there is so much blind loyalty towards a money grabbing company.
You are obviously blind if you don't see the shift in monetization in SDS/Sony's model. It is NOT the same as it was.
I mean I guess I dont really care because I'm staying NMS no matter what. It just bothers me when multi-billion dollar companies take advantage of ordinary people. And then for other ordinary people to actually defend said company is insane to me.

@doobiebross66-72_PSN, yeah, I agree with you that that one is pretty drastic... I don't remember seeing a 93 with contact stats like that and 80+ power to boot.
I'm in a different place than you in terms of being okay with the business strategy behind it, but you're definitely not wrong that the attributes of the cards that cost stubs are better than the cards you grind for at this point in the gaming cycle.
I'd probably have to pull an Ohtani to sell before buying that anytime soon, but I wouldn't think twice if it was around 150K.

I love it. They overly balance cards like Chipper/Griffey/etc to be platoon guys, and then Chase Pack Willi Castro is an absolute stud because they lowered the non-gameplay stats and turned him into a Pay to win hero
There’s a reason they didn’t show off the chase pack card during the stream.
