Last years game played better regardless of power creep
-
The game just doesn’t play well. So many squared up outs on goods and perfects with high power players. Also, your pitches rarely ever go where they’re supposed to even with good control pitchers. It’s almost always the worst possible PAR location.
-
Yeah, lower cards or not, the ball just doesn’t carry well. Not saying everything should be a HR but way too many line outs and soft hit fly balls despite good PCI placement and timing. Pitches do drift a lot more too and sometimes you can’t find the strike zone at all, way more than previous years. I don’t want it back to the way it was but do want things tweaked to make the game play feel more accurate and rewarding.
-
@TripleH-4481_PSN 100% gameplay is just not in a good spot right now. I feel like the issues are fixable but knowing SDS they’ll double down and not do anything about it. Might honestly be the last year I buy this game unless serious improvements are made.
-
@adro97-_-_MLBTS It does seem to play a little worse online this year. I have had some weird things happen like perfect pitch input and balls spiking in the dirt or hanging down the middle. More squared up balls for outs seems to me like the lower ratings.
-
@GoozeFn_PSN sure the lack of hits has somewhat to do with lower ratings but I’ve been consistently getting out with 80-110 power players on flyouts and line drives.
-
The lower ratings excuse is just that. Go back and play last years game and square up a ball with an 88 diamond and the ball flys. A major calculated change was clearly made to decrease homeruns and increase hit variety which I’m cool with. However, they took it too far and now way too many balls are nerfed and lineouts are thru the roof. There has to be a middle ground in there somewhere.

I'm perfectly fine with playing a bit more small ball/station to station style. I'm not a huge fan of how it seems to be a kneejerk overcorrection
-
the biggest problem is the exit velo is down and pitch accuracy is down. IF you can overcome those 2 things you'll be fine. Last year at this time everyone was hitting 500ft bombs from day one.
-
This is my disconnect with the online community and why I never will be able to actually play online seriously...You should not be "rewarded" for every good pci placement. That's just not how baseball works. Does it feel bad? Yes. But baseball is chalk full of hard hit balls right at people. That's why the defense matters. I want the game to be like that, but alas most of the community just wants a HR every AB. Sad
-
@TripleH-4481_PSN this exactly. There were plenty of guys with 80-90 power that killed the ball.
-
@LIONED-33_XBL how do you overcome RNG? Lmao
-
@trfatboy22_PSN I get not every barreled ball is gonna be a hit but when you’re getting the short end of the stick and your opponent is getting hard contact hits and dribblers and bloops it gets old quick. It seems like there’s always one person who gets favorable things going their way each game

And you've probably been that person on more than one occasion to someone else...but nobody ever complains when things go their way.
-
@adro97-_-_MLBTS It may seem that way, but there's a lot of inherent bias in that statement. As someone who has played every show game since 2006. I personally, haven't had any issue with the game this year. There are times I hit the ball hard at people and it sucks. But those are offset by bloop hits or errors. That's just baseball.
-
The real explanation of all these kind of threads (and I do not know if it is true for this one, so apologies in advance): They game plays worse because SDS nerfed those disgraceful stadiums everybody played in.
Now, more serious: I do get a lot of „bad hits“ against me (against my bad defenders) but overall the game plays way better … like a baseball game should be.
It is even more true (to me) since I started playing on HOF … -
@YOSHI24_XBL exactly.
-
@Easy_Duhz_It__PSN obviously it goes my way sometimes that was my whole point
-
@trfatboy22_PSN I’ve played for the 10+ years and this is by far the worst gameplay in the past 5 years.
-
@YOSHI24_XBL the game does play better on HOF but I’ve just had a stretch of games where I square up things and just don’t get rewarded for anything. A guy legitimately had 5 early and late hits in one inning to score 4 runs. It gets old quick.
-
If they could take last year’s gameplay with this year’s layout…That would be PERFECT.
