A "flashback" is a player that is currently playing.
A "legend" is a player who has retired.

If you’re in My Inventory, you can filter by “Player Type” as flashback or legend or none. But it’s pretty basic: legend is a retired player; and, flashback is any card of an active player other than their live series card.
