In years past, I've always been able to get into the 800s pretty consistently (and hit WS at 900 occasionally). And every year when I'd start at 0 at the beginning of the game, I'd always win a ton of games in a row and start like 15-1.

This year is way different. I'm like 7-5 to start and haven't even cracked 500. Feels like it's a coin flip how the ball's coming off the bat, there's tons of weak base hits, and most outfielders have no urgency getting to the ball.

Anybody else feeling like ranked this year is playing way different? Or did I just forget how to play since last year?

So my buddy and I played ranked Co-op last night, and we won 2 games via opponent surrendering...one game was 1-0, the other was a 2-0...both in the 2nd inning. Then we lost two in a row...but my god, it didn't feel "normal". The game itself felt like it was playing like garbage. There was a routine fly ball to shallow left...settled underneath it only to watch his casually let it drop, yet he made the motion like he caught it. Infielders had zero fielding urgency, there was a lot of funky contact...including an HR on a FB 4" in and maybe about the same up...never seen that before. Lots of lag as well. In the final game we managed to walk off in the 10th, and that one had no lag but was playing like garbage again. Hoping to chalk it up to a weird night server wise but yeah, it felt really weird

Same here. I started DD in 21 and was awful but played constantly and by the time 22 rolled around I was decent and started 22, 23 and 24 with having my first loss somewhere in the 600s and made WS all 3 years. I started ranked the other day and am currently 1-4. My one win was the very first game and homered the first two batters and the guy quit. Then the next 3 it was like I had never picked the game up before. It wasn't an issue of having inferior cards either because my team was clearly the better team on paper. With me it's not even the issue of the hitting being off in the game that everyone has talked about, I just can't get the PCI to the ball. When I do I'm way early on 4 seams and sinkers and way late on sliders and off speed. It's very frustrating and I just feel totally lost at the plate. I even played 24 up to two weeks before launch so it's not a case of I quit playing a couple of months ago and am just getting back into it. So anyways I then thought I'd try an event game just to see if things got any better and I matched up against someone that had a 12-30 ranked record and lost 3-0. Crazy thing is I can go offline and play diamond quest and crush the ball playing on hall of fame or legend like in the past, but I get online and my pci is in the craziest places when I swing and my timing is all over the place.

@dsparks_PSN I stopped playing 24 around the All-star break but picked it back up a few weeks before the release of 25 just to get back into it. Started a new ranked season and went like 12-0 before 25 came out. Went right into the new game and just nothing.

I'm the same way with timing. I find myself consistently behind on off-speed pitches. It's the weirdest thing...almost like the timing window changed this year and I still haven't adjusted to it.

Yes, it feels different. I've had a few games that felt normal and a few that were gummy, rng dominant. I don't know what rhyme or reason, it's as if the game has decided the winner and no matter how perfect or how patient I am, it favors the opponent. Though, I have had some games that seemed to play normal. My last ranked game to get above 400, my opponent either dashboarded and the game kept playing, or just put the controller down and I scored 44 runs after he over ran a single and the ball trickled to the fence.

@xIAmJumpMan23x_PSN Same here … I started way better in the previous years and I just cracked the 500s today.
    The two main reasons:

    • I am just not focused enough while pitching. Bad input leads to way more meatballs, which cost me most of my games
    • I am not used to the power creep

The difference to recent years: It is way more fun 🙂 for me 🙂
