The single most important thing that will improve anyone’s enjoyment of the game is to not let results determine whether it’s fun or not and to treat each at bat as a learning opportunity.
We're talking about a randomized animation-generated game...not a simulation where there is enough consistency that you can truly adapt to a reproducible experience.
There are some that try to compare The Show challenges to Boss battles in other games. Like comparing apples to oranges. In the typical Shooter-genre Boss-battle game the "Boss" behaves the same way..always...you have to adapt. By recreating the experience, paying attention, you learn the method to beat the "Boss".
In The Show, the experience is so varied and completely random you can't adapt. You just ride it out, keep playing through the anger, disbelief, and disappointment of a game that coulda been, and hope the randomized animation finally turns up a win.
Good point.

Learnt that from your at-bats, huh?
In all seriousness, I had forgotten as I read through that this was a Showdown post so I probably should have stayed out of it as Showdown and Moments are purely results-based.
