Xbox Pro Controller Issues

My pro controller will not work with the game. I can load into the game with it. It will work in menus. However, the second I load into a game menu to set lineup and start, the A button, and other buttons, will not work. I cannot do anything. The game isn’t frozen, the controller just won’t work.

I downloaded new updates for it last night, still won’t work.
