Maybe I'm the odd ball but i don't see why Elly deserves a 99? i understand he's awesome in game and stuff but what warrants him to have a 99??

99% of other players have 99 ovr card many of which don't deserve one or are using past cards to get there. Heck they could give us a show classic future star card he had a couple years ago that was just magic

I can't believe we're going a whole year without an Angels or 2-way Ohtani other than his LS card. Could easily do a 2-way captain during these captain releases too.

Elly deserves a 99 because Spencer Steer has a 99.

The general consensus on Elly is that he is going to be next years Cover athlete and we will get a 99 version when they announce it.
I have no idea if that is true or not but I am not sure why they would not give such a highly desired player a 99 card. I mean why give us a Brice Turang SB milestone card over an Elly SB milestone card. So, I am leaning towards an Elly cover.
