I want a HOF Mantle, and I would imagine it’s gonna be a card you have to pay for. Acuna, Kershaw, Verlander, and Trout could get RETRO finest. Really dumbfounded by some of these choices….
McGwire, Palmiero, Utley I think are the home runs. Other ones are all very odd. Piazza, Peavy, Luis Gonzalez, Andy Petitte, Madison Bumgartner are some players that come to mind that WOULD have been better choices. -

Off the top of my head those are the two biggest names without a 99 yet. Shoot Musial doesn't even have a 90+ card at all. Mantle only has a 91
I could see those two and maybe Cy Young (who also does not have a 99) being Season 4 XP path boss rewards.
Nice to see that I can occasionally make good guesses. I just chose the wrong pitcher and we got them a little earlier than I expected.

We didn't get Cy Young himself for the third choice, but we did get a 3x Cy Young Award winner, so that's gotta count for something.
Also, Daulton Varsho for the D-backs is awesome as long as he has a C secondary. Left-handed catcher with a great swing, strong defense and near-elite speed? Hard to beat that.

At this stage, everybody already has a stacked lineup without any real holes. And there's no way they can put out 30 cards that will appeal to 100% of the users. I have had a lot of fun with Josh Gibson, Jorge Posada, and the S1 TN Shea Langeliers, so I don't really need Varsho, but he'll be fun to play with whilst grinding out TA3 stats. In fact, none of the previewed cards (including Mantle, Musial, Pedro, Bellinger, etc.) are going to make my team "better." They'll just make my team different, which is all we can really hope for in October.

For me I think Bellinger and Pedro will make my team better. I love that Bellinger is one of the only players with 90+ arm strength that can play 1B (fits Cruz Captain boost).
